We have been to Hsalt for many years, they have always been good, it seems like this location is cutting corners on quality of food. The chicken strips are way smaller, the fish was tasteless, and very greasy, it tasted like the grease was old. This establishment has no personality, the workers act like zombies, they don’t speak unless spoken to, they just care about taking your money. One more thing, they really need to clean and scrub that place, it is filthy, especially the walls. Get back on track H Salt

The fish and chips i had were delicious. Lightly coated with batter and hot, the fish were fillets and not that mushy stuff.. The fries were good as well.

Sorry but I was very disappointed with the food, fish had no flavor although cooked prefect abs juicy. Fries cooked perfect but no seasoning very bland, shrimp no flavor chewy and more batter than shrimp. Hushpuppies were on point. Sauces were horrible.
Before anyone comes at my I used to live this place I haven’t been in years so that’s why I’m so disappointed. Another thing I’m a retired chef of 16 years so I know what I’m taking about when it comes to food.

Not a big fan of fish, went here for the wife because she is/was a fan of H Salt Fish & Chips from back in the day but they also offer chicken which I have to say was truly delicious. Wife loved the fish. It’s in a kinda shady part of town so I would recommend going either for lunch or an early dinner.

I’ve been eating H Salt Fish & Chips from way back in my high school days. It’s still one of my all time favorite meals I can find even today, 40+ years later. Every location is still basically 70’s type decorated and the recipe, to my knowledge has not changed a bit. This location (San Bernardino) the staff very nice and friend (family owned). Small location and dining room still out dated. The food, in my eyes the best. I do have to admit, a little greasy but still worth it. I feel it’s one of those things, you either like it or not. I say give a try and see for yourself.
