Oh oh and get the beef tongue with scallion and negi sauce if they ask, and eat them like a taco. Soooo good
I’m an avid Gyu-Kaku enjoyed. I’ve been to locations in Texas, Florida, and even Osaka Japan!
Moving to a place that had Gyu-Kaku to a state that has none has been a disappointment however with a Dallas trip on the horizon I planned months in advance to visit Gyu-Kaku during my trip! The plan got even better with this location opening up closer to downtown where my hotel was vs the original location on the outskirts of Dallas. It was almost like the Gyu-Kaku gods knew I was coming.
The food was yummy as ever and our servers Jamie and Robbie were amazing. Robbie was training but I think he’ll go far and is a wonderful addition to this team. He was definitely the highlight of our dining experience (besides the yummy food of course).
P.S. Owners if you read this, please consider a location in Oklahoma. I promise I’ll be your #1 customer for life! <3
The food was up to the standards of the other locations and thankfully, they had all the classic sauces.
Definitely putting this on the regular visit tour.
We loved the overall vibe and how smooth everything went. Definitely coming back!
The service was painfully bad. Yes, I understand being short-staffed—but when there are only 3–4 tables, there’s really no excuse for the complete lack of effort we experienced. Our waiter barely checked on us, no water refills, no follow-ups, no sense that anyone cared whether we were enjoying our meal or not. It felt like we were an inconvenience rather than paying customers.
The food itself was just okay, nothing memorable, and definitely not enough to make up for how neglected we felt the entire time. The biggest issue wasn’t delays—it was the attitude and energy. When staff moves like they don’t want to be there, you feel it as a guest.
To their credit, the manager did step in at the end and made things right after acknowledging how many mistakes were made. I appreciate that effort—but unfortunately, it came too late to save the experience.
This was a place I once recommended without hesitation. Now, I’m confident I won’t be coming back. When service drops this hard, especially compared to what it used to be, it’s hard to justify giving it another chance.
