Some of our good friends were visiting us from out of town & recommended us coming here for lunch as it’s one of their favorite places. The place opens at 11am and we were one of the first parties there. By noon, it was a lot of traffic yet it quieted down by the time we finished visiting so it’s nice to see its pretty prompt experience even on a busy holiday morning. The waitress was really helpful to us first timers & said Gus is actually founded in Memphis and in other states (like California & Louisiana)!
We shared a 20 piece among the 4 of us and still had leftovers to take home! The chicken, the sides, are all delicious and freshly made with each order. Check it out if you haven’t yet!

Yum, really liked everything about this place.
There was a great selection of food, we specifically wanted fried chicken, we ordered both 3 tenders and 2 pieces of white meat plus a mac and cheese. It was plenty for us.
The food came out really quickly, the service was really good, the price was reasonable and we really enjoyed the meal.
No booking necessary.

Gus’s World Famous Fried Chicken in New Orleans is absolutely amazing. The chicken itself is perfectly crispy on the outside and juicy on the inside — honestly some of the best fried chicken I’ve ever had.
The sides were also excellent. The coleslaw was my favorite, and the fries were wonderfully crispy. The collard greens were flavorful, and while the mac and cheese wasn’t the standout of the meal, it was still very solid.
The atmosphere is casual and spacious — nothing fancy, just relaxed and comfortable. The open windows made it feel breezy and inviting.
The only minor downside is that even though we were one of the few customers at the time, the food took a little while to come out. I think this is because everything is cooked fresh, which I really appreciate, but it’s worth noting for anyone in a rush — this isn’t really a grab-and-go spot. We had ordered quite a lot, which may have contributed to the wait, but the service was friendly and accommodating.
Overall, the food more than makes up for the wait. Gus’s is a must-try for anyone in New Orleans who loves fried chicken.

Gus’s is everything!! If you are in New Orleans and you want an experience don’t miss Gus’s!! Ms. Tee is a whole customer service experience. The food is made to order but worth the wait. The staff is amazing…from the cooks to the dishwasher. There team is affective and efficient. I have never seen team work like this staff & the chicken is pretty darn good. I ordered the 3 tenders…I sat at the bar & ate all 3 tenders then ordered 2 more to take back to my hotel room. The customer service made the food taste even better!! I enjoyed everything about my experience. Miss Tee is an amazing asset to the restaurant. Don’t hesitate to check them out.

I had a little date with my man today. The food was nice. I didn’t like the macaroni and cheese, but they exchange it for something else but everything was pleasant. Nice atmosphere.

They have different fryers for each size chicken piece to ensure perfect timing for juicyness. Legit frying logistics. Perfect blend of flavor, crispiness and juicyness

It was busy after a Pokemon event at the convention center but we were able to get a table pretty quickly. My husband loves fried chicken and said this was indeed the best fried chicken he has had. Awesome flavor here for the chicken. I think the sides were alright, but not insanely good. Our server was very friendly and helpful!

We have tried Gus’s in Houston, Austin and now New Orleans. Let me tell you they did not disappoint! Food was amazing! I must say NOLA you may have Texas beat! Although everything tasted the exact same deliciousness you expect from Gus’s I believe I could taste the pride and love just a bit more here! The chicken is always EXTREMELY juicy! The spice is on point! The sides are packed with flavor and the sweet tea hits! We came in around 2pm and we’re followed by a large group in a bus. The employees didn’t look frustrated at all, despite a group of 40 or more walking in. They put their heads down and got down!! Taking care of everyone. The open window is great! Love the atmosphere! Great job y’all! Much ❤️ from TX!
