When I lived in Somerset, Gus’s was my go-to spot for pizza and grinders. Stopped in after a 10+year absence and I was not disappointed. Same great food, same friendly people!! I had my olde standby an Italian grinder and was as always, pleased!

New to area looking for a go to pizza place that has a nice traditional thin crust plain cheese pizza. If you’re like me and hoping for that nice crisp first bite with a slight crunch this ain’t it. Not sure if this was an off night because a lot of the reviews for this place are singing it’s praises as life long customers but wow the grease factor was unreal, I had a ton of paper towels handy thankfully but the small cheese pizza was literally fused to the parchment paper with grease. Once I freed it from the paper and patted it down several times with paper towels and tried it it honestly reminded me of Chuck E. Cheese pizza (which I actually like) Really soft crust, good amount of cheese and not too much sauce (I love light sauce on pizza so this was the reason I ate two pieces despite the grease bath and also was ravenously hungry). Jalapeño poppers were decent thought it was weird they put marina sauce with them as the dipping option usually places default to ranch for them. Husband ordered a BBQ pizza said it was fine. Overall this will not be my go to pizza place but it’s not terrible and the order was ready quickly and was accurate.

DONE! I’ve been going to this place for years. But it has changed tremendously over the last few. Pretty much since Gus himself left. Nice family and everything but the kids they have working there they simply don’t listen. We ordered dinner a few nights ago, a few pizzas couple sandwiches One was a steak and cheese toasted very well. And as many times as my husband asked the young girl on the phone to repeat the order back she still didn’t repeat it right and he really pronounced that the subs were to be toasted well. At least three times. They just don’t listen they don’t pay attention to detail …nothing. they just don’t care. Completely done …will not be ordering. And it’s not because we live far away cuz we live right off Riverside less than literally a 1 minute drive. The fries …they don’t even bother putting paper towels in these cardboard containers all the condensation on the side of the box… the fries were actually wet you could pick one up and it just curled right over. Soggy as hell. Actually horrible. It’s one thing when you get a meal and there’s a mistake on it. No big deal people make mistakes. But when it’s over and over and over again then enough is enough. This was literally the fourth meal over the last 6 to 7 weeks that we ordered from them and they were not right. Yes you can call them and they can redo it and you can wait another hour for them to come but who wants to do that….. It’s too bad it’s gone downhill this much.
You can see from the photos the sub was not toasted at all never mind toasted extra well!!! It literally was just bread. Not toasted at all. You can see all the condensation on the side of the box of fries so either they let it sit there for too long before it was delivered or I don’t know what but the fries all went into the woods. They were horrible. It sucks too because in all reality it was only about a dollar or a $1.50 less than the pricey restaurant right nearby them. But there is just no comparison in taste. So I’ll spend the extra $1.50 from now on. It’s too bad we miss Gus himself. He always listened and he always got the orders correct.
Look at the bag!!!! Hadn’t even taken the sandwich out of the bag at all, and look at all the grease. I know it’s fast food but come on. You can make an effort to wrap the paper towels in it or something. Take the extra step for your customers or take each order as if it was going to your own family!!!

Loved the calzone! Not a traditional calzone, but the flavor was great!

We tried this pizzeria for the first time today and it was a great experience. The cheese pizza is so good – best in the area. the garlic bread is also delicious! Wish it were bigger because it was so good but will order more next time. The steak and cheese calzone was out of the world. Probably the best steak and cheese calzone I’ve ever had! The fries were good, not the best. We will be back plenty.

I have been a weekly customer for over 10 years. I have used Gus’ to cater parties at home and my place of business. I’m beyond disappointed in the service and quality as of late. My last visit left me with an undercooked pizza. The crust was very doughy tasting still. Today was my last time attempting to order from Gus’ Pizza. I placed an order over the phone with a young lady that had no idea what an antipasto salad was. I explained it to her and asked if she needed time to get someone to help her. After completing my order she told me about 30 minutes for delivery. After an hour I called to check on my order and was informed there was something wrong with the computer and my order wasn’t saved. I asked to speak to someone in charge. The person she passed the phone to said it was the first girl’s second day and put me on hold. The third person that got on the phone said the young lady was training. Unfortunately this seems to be an ongoing issue as 2 of my neighbors have been having bad experiences there. The lack of oversight on quality and service is why I will join my neighbors and no longer patronize this business.
