But what truly elevated our evening was the honor of meeting the owner, Master Chef Uday Kadam. At 70 years old, his energy and passion for hospitality are palpable. Knowing his background—a decades-long career spanning top hotels and Disney—you can taste that level of mastery in every bite.
Despite his incredible resume, Mr. Uday is remarkably humble. Seeing his vision come to life in this restaurant was deeply inspiring. I feel genuinely blessed to have met him. If you want spectacular food served with heart and soul, you must visit Guru.
Food:
Frozen and microwaved, served room temperature, tastes strongly like WOF. Bread was re-heated as well and not even brought to temperature.
Not sure why people eat here, but it’s definitely a good option for local customers who are on a budget, can’t travel, never tried good Indian food before and can tolerate microwaved meat.
Service: I got served by a senior blonde lady who, while was nice to my friend Aron and treated him like her beloved grand child, was extremely disrespectful to me, she actually mocked me! When I ordered “Mutton Biryani” she responded “blrblrblrp” and pushed the menu to me(show me what you mean)! I thought, my accent can’t be that bad!, it turned out, she didn’t know what mutton means, I had to say lamb so she can get it. Obviously she’s not a fan of Indian food or of people like me! Do yourself a favor, eat at home and save that hundred dollars in your travel stash.
We walked into the restaurant and found a spotless and beautifully decorated dining room. The service was on point. Like that of a much more expensive restaurant.
We ordered Bhanji onion, garlic naan, chicken tikka masala, tandoori chicken tikka, and butter chicken. We were served a feast. We were blown away by the food and the giant portions. The food was $20-$30 per plate and worth every dime. This was some of the best Indian food we’d ever had. Highly recommended.
The food is so good it makes you do those uncontrollable “happy food” sounds with every bite. If you’re craving authentic, flavorful Indian food in Clermont, this is THE place.
The owners were extremely friendly, professional and conversational. You can tell they take pride in their business of serving and want the customers to experience food that brings everyone together. I cannot wait to try other dishes. Highly recommended .
