**Outstanding Lobster Shack Experience!**

We ordered the lobster roll, steamed lobster, steamers, fried clams, and clam chowder—and everything was incredibly fresh and flavorful. The fried clams were a standout: perfectly crispy with a light batter that melted in your mouth. The clam chowder was hands-down the best I’ve ever had—packed with whole clams, and infused with the delicious flavor of fried onions and bacon. You can really tell everything is homemade and never frozen.

Scott Harley, the owner, even took the time to sit and chat with us. He was friendly, modest, and kind. He told us the food is made with love, and I absolutely agree—you can taste it in every bite.

The shack overlooks the water with a refreshing breeze, making the whole experience even better. I highly recommend this place and can’t wait to come back again and again!

The lobster roll was $25, and $6 to add on a condiment-sized cup of potato salad or cole slaw, and fries or onion rings. Roll was broken, and when you picked it up, lobster fell out the bottom. Amount of lobster was basic and taste was bland, nothing special about it. Lobster was slightly overcooked so it was not juicy and was less flavorful. Lobster was room temperature. $36 with a Pepsi and a hot dog roll lobster roll, and we were still hungry when we left. Food was MEH. Salted, melted butter to put on lobster roll was much too salty for the lobster. Should have been UNsalted butter for the roll. The location on the side of the road was less than stellar. I am a local, and will not be back; there are so many other places to get a top notch lobster roll!

There are higher end places in the area. However for fresh seafood this place is fantastic. You order at the counter. They have lots of fried and steamed fresh seafood, including lobsters and lobster rolls. Fun place that also sells raw fresh seafood which is also fantastic. We got some haddock and made great fish tacos at home as well.

Best Lobster Roll this season. Plenty of big, juicy pieces of Lobster meat tossed together with a light layer of mayo. The perfectly toasted bun was complemented by the yummy Lobster. Great little place to stop. I’ve had takeout from here for over 10yrs and keep going back! You can pick up a beverage and a desert and sit outside and enjoy your meal.

The blueberry pie and lobster roll is a must! They also have fresh fish to buy and take. You order at a window then wait for your name to be called. The small indoor area is for “grocery” shopping. There are benches undercover to sit and wait for your food. Picnic tables are available next to the water when weather permits. This is not a wheelchair approved restaurant. With some mobility issues you can make it indoors but the picnic area is a little more treacherous. There are no bathrooms but an outhouse. It is more a order to go place. The food was great. Whole clams in the clam chowder, large chucks of lobster in the soup and rolls, but the crab cake sandwich had hardly any crab. No chucks of meat mostly filler. This might be the Maine way as I’m use to Maryland crab cakes. It still had good flavor. This is certainly a must stop.

Truly, absolutely spectacular food, ambiance, service, setting. It’s beautiful coming in and I’ve never, ever experienced a chowder so deliriously exceptional.

If I sound like I’m exaggerating – I’m not. Coming here is truly, truly a once in a lifetime kind of experience. Do not miss it!!

Interesting little locals place, we ordered crabcakes, seafood chowder, and lightly fried scallops. In general the prices are middle of the road for this locals place, crabcake was a little bit on the dry/breaded side for us, seafood chowder was a little bit lite on the seafood, mostly a hunk of fish and potatoes, very little lobster. The scallops were more heavily than lightly fried. Tartar sauce was very good. Nice eating area by water. Maybe we caught them on an off day but we weren’t horrible impressed.

This place was a pleasant surprise when my boyfriend and I were hunting for places open on Labor Day. They had a 2 lobster rolls for $45 deal that day and they were 10/10. The atmosphere is very relaxed and charming, with outdoor seating with views of the cove. We’ll definitely be coming back here the next time we’re in Maine!
