Our food was excellent but you should avoid coming here if you are brown as I don’t think that brown people are welcomed. We wanted to order the smoked mullet but the owner said they ran out for the day. However, the people after us ordered the mullet without any issue.

Don’t know why this place is only 4.9 starts and not 5! The smoked mullet is out of this world. The drive from Tampa was worth it.

Hole in the wall? Shoot. What walls!? This is what you look for. The smell when you get out of the car tells you that you are in the right place. The prices when you walk up tell you not to be afraid to try anything. And then the taste…ooooo, that taste. This photo os thw Catch of the Day Bowl. Mangrove Snapper served with creamy lime slaw, fresh Pico, cheese, topped with Sriracha aioli on a black bean salad. Mmmm

The owners should be proud of this wonderfully quaint place. At Gulley’s we were served an amazing crab cake that has high-quality meat (not too much breading). As well as a beautiful cheese buger to hit the spot. Along side of Gulley’s is Sunsets & Sweets. A lovely ice cream shop where we had root beer, coke floats. Or if you like yoo-hoo or orange floats they have those too! If you haven’t tried either place yet. Try them both! The places will never disappoint, that is, unless they sell out.. Their just that good.

Some of the best smoked fish spread I’ve ever had in Florida at Gulley’s! Unassuming little place, if you blink you might miss it. Look for the blue sign on 301. Also worth checking out is the farmers market that is also on the property, great produce, jarred specialty items, etc. at very reasonable prices. Will likely shop there for my produce from now on as opposed to larger chains. Also a cute little ice cream food truck on property that would be fun if you’re in the mood for a lil’ something sweet! Definitely worth the trip! Will be trying their smoked trout main dish next time. Apparently, it’s off the chain!

Will return when pass by.

A cute shack off 301. It opens on weekdays – the tomato farm opens on weekends. We had our lunch but stopped by for some take out.

It’s a family business but the sweet girl said he’s not her father.

The mullet is pretty good. The crab cakes are ok – only bec I made a few two weeks ago myself, with less breadcrumbs (?) more crab meat.

Just a roadside local old Florida feel place. We loved the grouper dip…but it is only once a month offering. Highly recommend local fish and shrimp tacos! Perfect on their picnic tables and the weather finally makes that fun!

They have the best fish tacos. The mullet dip is to die for, once I open it and start eating it I can’t stop until its gone. Also on of the few places I know of in Manatee county that have smoked mullet. The key lime pie there is old school and tastes just like grandma used to make.

I can’t say enough about this spot. I was reminded about the smoked mullet spread when my brother in-law, who doesn’t like fish, raved about it. Hands down the best fish spread I’ve had. Don’t get spooked by the tore up building next to it. The area was almost completely destroyed by the hurricanes. There were 2 other food trucks in the lot and I hear they may build a stage on the property for music.
