Reviews
Big variety of food and flavor in every bite!
I haven’t ever had anything bad to eat here. I know they are known for their tamales, but you can never go wrong with the lunch special of the day, a po-boy or the fried chicken. Great food, great staff & a great place for the locals to get fed quickly.
Service: …
I’ve been back and had the fried shrimp poboy and ham and cheese poboy. Both were delicious. I guess just stay away from the tacos…
I want to love this neighborhood deli/food mart/hole in the wall because I’m doing a project in the area and keep passing it. I got the 3 taco and 3 tamale special. The tacos were fair to poor and for a place with tamales in the name, I was disappointed. They are average at best. However, I will definitely come back and try other items such as their nice looking poboy selection. On a positive note, the ice cold bottle of Barq’s was delicious.
The po-boy ended up being served to my table without Swiss cheese. By the time I noticed it and returned to them and they corrected the error, The Swiss cheese slices did not melt because it was placed on top of the cold tomato that was on top of the gravy and beef and also because the hot roast beef gravy is no longer hot. Only warm. And Swiss cheese slices do not tend to melt when hanging outside the sandwich.
Ugh. Minus one star.
But, hey! The po-boy was delicious!
