It’s all about the experience…
Possibly the best Hole in the wall experience…sortra. lol
Don’t know how I missed this one…
I only learned about Guieb Cafe on this trip. Guieb came highly recommended by on of the da Wahine’s friends who was a local. The venue itself isn’t the nicest, I’d say it’s more a larger hole in the wall. The location is not ideal, parking is rather difficult, if you can find it and the spaces are tight! This inside is fine, not the biggest of places, but everything is clean and well kept.
#GuiebGrindz:
~ Guieb Bowls: spicy ahi & lechon kawali – 5/5
5 ***** for that presentation alone! Then there is the taste to back it up… The Lechon was perfect; deep-fried to a golden, crackling crisp. And the Spicy Ahi was so fresh as well. This is something I would expect from a Michelin Star venue.
~ Oxtail Soup (Daily Specials) – 4/5
Very good flavor, tender Oxtail, but a bit on the Saltier side.
~ PANCAKES: Ube Mascarpone – 5/5
Again with that presentation! Incredible Ube Mascarpone. Probably one of the Best I had! Made in house, not too sweet. PERFECTION!!
The staff were super friendly and welcoming; service was brilliant. They even gave us some extra Ube mascarpone after they saw us cleaning up the container…lol. Mahalo! Only adding to the incredible experience of dining at Guieb…
This is now one of my go to spots when I head back to Oahu.
Chee Hoo!
However, the crab benedict was made with imitation crab and the wagyu loco moco was dry and the gravy wasn’t all that.
It’s a small place but well kept in every way and the staff were extremely helpful and attentive.
I was able to put all my travel bags down and rest for a moment, as well as charge my phone.
The Prime Rib loco moco was nothing short of spectacular and tasty, the rice soaking up the gravy and delicious egg yolks.
Everything I needed from a cafe pitstop!
The whip and flavor is light and well
Balance combo! I cook for a living and run restaurants myself, this spot is the best I’ve had in Hawaii thus far. The ladies are fast, very respectful & attentive! We and up stopping by to eat one last time before heading to Alaska with some flowers! You girls rock, I’m Making plans to check out your location in Vegas this winter’ love you guys! Mahalo! See you guys again next year!
The only good thing was the crab bennenit. Place is very small . Overprice
I wouldn’t go back.
I ordered the Loco Moco Fried Rice. My first time having Loco Moco and it was good!
My friends ordered Chicken and Waffles, French Toast w/Marscapone, and a burger.
We all enjoyed our meal. That chicken was fire!!
The prices were great and I highly recommend coming here to eat for sure. It’s less expensive than near the hotels.
Plus the service is great and more personable.
Local breakfast/ brunch place. Get there early, it gets busy fast.
