I visited with my sister and friend for a birthday meal last week and we are still talking about how delicious this little restaurant is. I didn’t even know this place existed until I saw reviews on Google. We all had different meals, salmon in coconut curry, Chicken tikka and the lamb curry. Each meal was served piping hot by a lovely, attentive and smiling waitress. Genuinely authentic & unique flavours. Fabulous peshwari naan & onion bhaji. Lovely decor and atmosphere. We would definitely recommend. Absolutely delicious!

This absolute gem of a restaurant in the heart of Taunton, is a MUST GO. The food is absolutely stunning, and the new menu is one to try a gazillion times! The onion bhaji and poppadoms are superior to any other local curry-house. Not to mention the Butter Chicken and Lamb curry, which were both exceptionally spiced and cooked to perfection! The desserts were also mouthwatering-ly appetising! The gajar ka halwa and gulab jamun are not to be missed! Fellow readers and reviewers, This restaurant is the BEST! And I cannot recommend this magnificent eatery any more! JUST GO FOLKS!

Believe the reviews. I can’t emphasise enough just how beautiful the food is from this family run restaurant. We have visited them as a large party group and as a couple, and we are always greeted by a warm and friendly authenticity and shown to our seat. It never feels performative.
They cater to us as vegans, even producing off-menu freshly made naan options and offering completely delicious alternatives.
The decor and calm atmosphere is tasteful and intentional, miles away from the chain eateries we’re all growing accustomed to.
I don’t have a bad word to say. I hope to return very soon.

This was something a bit different from my usual experience of an Indian restaurant, in every sense, the decor the presentation, the food. But overall I thought it was really good. And it was good to try something that was a bit different.

We came over to Taunton from Hayes and… What can I say! The service was exceptionally swift and the waiters were incredibly kind and compassionate. Not to mention food I will never forget for 10 lifetimes! What a wonderful restaurant. The picks of the night for me were the awesome aloo bonda’s and the “special” onion bhajis as well as the gobsmackingly tasty Lamb thali, which was perfectly spiced and authentically aromatic! What a gem of a restaurant and as the last review said “6 stars of I could!” It’s safe to say, Guddi and Gikki is setting a new benchmark for traditional, home cooked, aromatic Indian cooking!

I recently had the pleasure of dining at Guddi & Gikki and it was an unforgettable experience! The food was absolutely amazing – bursting with authentic Indian flavors and cooked to perfection. Boom boom koli dish was literally amazing The staff were attentive and made us feel so welcome, and the open kitchen gave a unique glimpse into the cooking process. If you’re looking for a place with delicious food and a great atmosphere, this is a must-try! Highly recommended!

This is out of the ordinary.beautifully cooked food. Each main dish comes with three sides – this is a great way to do it. Each dish very distinct with amazing flavours and just the right amount of spicing. Did I say the mixed starters were superb? We had a wonderful time last Wednesday night. Busy enough to have a hum of conversation of people clearly having a great time. Terrific service – just the right amount of attention.

What a super restaurant. Family run, energetic atmosphere and an excitingly different new menu. This restaurant is heads and shoulders above the usual town curry-house, the food, well it is that good, I don’t even need to write a dish by dish review, JUST GO. The food arrives swiftly and the service is great too. An absolutely exceptional restaurant and definitely worth visiting without hesitation, you won’t regret it.
