Delicious food and great service. All around pleasant and welcoming staff. Greeted warmly. Sat on nice patio overlooking street. Pretty flowers. Unbelievably great chicken molcajete. Blend of flavors was unusual. Can’t wait to get again. Crab enchiladas were wonderful. These are almost impossible to find. Generous portion with lots of crab meat. Roasted pineapple margarita was one of the best drinks ever. Tasty salsa and chips. Big balls of fried ice cream for dessert. Must try!

I recently had the pleasure of enjoying a lunch at this restaurant. The menu offers a wide variety of mouthwatering Mexican dishes. If you visit, I highly recommend indulging in their beef and shrimp fajitas – they were absolutely delicious. Don’t forget to save room for dessert because they are both delicious and generously portioned.

Ordered carry-out that was supposed to be ready in 45 minutes. Waited an hour past that for the food. Half of the chips were burnt and none of them had much salt. The house salsa didn’t taste like much and went bad the next day. The green one and the spicy one were pretty good. They messed up one of our orders and said they would credit us but didn’t. Called a week later and they said they would fix it but they didn’t. Called back the following week and this time they hung up on me. I will take up the dispute with my credit card company. They aren’t very familiar with vegan and think it means gluten free. Order with caution if there are any food allergies.

Guanajuato was outstanding! Great service complemented with delicious Mexican fare. Really good margaritas and guacamole were a great start. The highlight though is the enchiladas, amazing. The combo platter is a great option to try different foods, as all were excellent. Do not skip dessert as the tres leches strawberry cake and churros with ice cream are fantastic finishes.

Very disappointed and EXTREMELY overpriced! I find restaurants that try to be “more” than who they are, always fail! The hobnobs in Winnetka may think this is Mexican, but…. Please, if it can’t be picked up and held in your hand, it is NOT a taco. Good taste but horrible presentation. And if you dont want to serve rice and beans, don’t bring out an ounce worth of product just to be fancy in small cute bowls. Cold rice and beans. Corn tortillas could not be picked up. They were served cold, unheated. Just a horrible meal to have a $25.+ price tag! And the salsa was “water” – no substance!

Poor Customer Service. went for Mother’s day dinner with friends, food took a long time to come out and when it did, my wife’s dinner was wrong. Took over 5 minutes to get someone’s attention and then another 5 minutes for our waiter to come over, no apology for the mistake and then it took 15 minutes to get her correct meal out. My dinner was also missing the side salad that came with it and that took 10 minutes more to come out and while our friend was eating their meal she found a rubber band in her food, which she did not bring to the waiters attention because he was nowhere to be found. I liked Guanajauto at there old location, but not impressed with their current service, don’t think there is any reason to go back.

We went to eat yesterday the food was OKAY. But there are lot more restaurants here in Chicago that has more delicious food than what they serve. The server guy which is hispanic with round face knocked down the water in the table, at 1st I thought it was my husband’s fault that’s why it was knocked out but my husband’s explanation was the elbow of the server hit the glass of water with a lot of ice in it. So my point here is the server didn’t say any Sorry or ask any apology…for my family to have a quite lunch my husband just wipe the table and the water spill on his clothes and pants and just wipe it down finished the food even he is wet then go home after. The server is kinda rude for not asking sorry and his face looks disgusted for what happened but it was his fault. I’m hoping next time they need to be careful moving the table or serving foods and be considerate. Thank you. Also all the staff should know the good manners and right conduct. That’s all.

Terrible service. We ordered for delivery through their site, 40 min AFTER when it should have arrived we called and they said “oh it hasn’t left the restaurant yet”. So we drove to pick it up and no one would help remove the delivery fee/tip and the food was freezing because it was sitting on the shelf for over half an hour.

Incredibly Delicious! Enchiladas Margarita Two green sauce enchiladas filled with chicken. Garnish with baby arugula, avocado, red onion, cotija cheese and sour cream. And then Tres Leches for dessert, yummy!!
