One thing that really stands out is the caviar special . It’s something you honestly don’t see offered anywhere else in this area, and they present it really well. It’s a unique touch that makes the place feel special and different from most restaurants nearby, the live music on weekends makes the ambiance even better!
We made reservations via Open Table, we showed up with no issues being seated.
Our waitress Nicole, we loved as she had great table-side customer service with a nice smile.
We had a few hiccups, but they were handled superbly.
We were given menus and a specialty menu. We placed an order for 2 sausages and peppers appetizers: only to be told they can only prepare one order because we were given the wrong menu. Okay, no big deal so calamari was the next option.
Our appetizers were delivered to our table, the sausages & peppers were good. However, the calamari was sent back to be cooked a bit longer. It was juicy on the inside, more than I preferred.
When it came back it was cooked perfectly.
The soups were just okay! Once again a matter of preference as the French Onion soup had an excessive amount of cheese. It was too complicated to enjoy and the Chowder was just chowder missing that wow factor.
Our main meals were cooked and served just the way we liked them. The Roasted Salmon is a must have, which Nicole highly recommended. She also recommended the Lemon Chicken, which didn’t disappoint either. The steak was delicious as well cooked perfectly barely pink on the inside as requested.
We love the ambiance and atmosphere! A beautiful modern decor in an intimate setting.
First impression their decor was simple clean lines, lovely. A relaxed, welcoming environment.
We selected the Swordfish served with a light sauce, wild rice and vegetable- the Roasted Salmon with a ponzu sauce, served over rice, carrots and ginger- Porkchop with zip sauce and two sides – Lampchops marinated and grilled with two sides.
Each of us enjoyed our meals and the portions were generous.
The staff was friendly and even though our server was very new, she was kind and attentive. Surely with more experience it will build her confidence.
Ended with a slice of delicious cheesecake ( in which they gave for the birthday).
However, they did not honor our gift card, they explained the business was sold a couple months ago and had new owners.
Of course we were disappointed, but it was all handled very professionally and we would recommend G’s – and we will return !
One thing I saw different from when they readjusted the environment, the lights were on and bright when before it was dimmer, a more intimate and formal vibe. I would have liked it a bit dimmer.
Tonight, we drove the 30 minutes but brought the gift card with us. While waiting for a table, my wife noticed a sign at the front desk that said something to this effect (due to new ownership we will not be accepting gift cards that were purchased prior to November 2025). I thought, no way this can be right!? I spoke with one of the owners and she said that they cannot honor the gift card but would give us a free appetizer. I explained that this did not make sense. We were not holding onto this gift card for a year or two. We basically had a 3 month window to use this gift card? She said the previous owner was paid for this and they would lose the $50 to us if they honored the card. My response was, well now I’m losing (or my friend who bought it) the $50. She stood by what she said. She was not rude but had a hard stance on this.
I explained to her that we will be leaving and not coming back (not in a rude way at all) and that she is losing most likely around $700-$800 per year from us not coming back. She didn’t care about that math and told us to have a good night. I just can’t get over not making it completely right for us and anyone else in that situation. We weren’t trying to “pull a fast one,” or anything shady, just trying to use a gift card that should have been completely valid. Now my friends might as well have thrown that $50 in the garbage. It was bad business financially on their end tonight, and it was certainly not doing the right thing. Shame on you G’s and I hope you don’t do this to anyone else.
It’s an odd location, but worth trying to find it!
