Today was my first time going to this place. The big Asian girl in the front taking orders had no personality, seemed put off by questions, and was rude. My order was wrong because of the wing flavor (and the wings were extremely small). I am NEVER GOING BACK, not because the order was wrong, it was solely because of the RUDE big Asian girl up front. She must be fired or find some other thing for her to do. She should never be allowed to speak to the public.

Terrific food and incredibly nice staff! This place got rave reviews on Maps, so we made this our road trip dinner stop. We arrived 20 minutes before closing, and they still gladly sat us down.
The honey ranch wings were AMAZING! Wings were on the small side, but they were perfectly seasoned & perfectly cooked, so just double up on your order — well worth it. We also tried their fried rice because people gave it great reviews, and we were definitely not disappointed — it was delicious! Our teen ordered the chicken tenders with fries, and loved it. The fries here are excellent, nice & crispy. Our Philly Cheese Steak was also very good. We enjoyed everything we ordered, and left more than satisfied. Prices were very reasonable, too. We’re definitely coming back! A very nice family owns and runs this place, and I think they’re doing a fabulous job!

The Truth
Food: Wings were very hard and maybe fried too long possibly. Within an hour we had bad stomach vibes. The rice was good and typical and the food was very hot! The wings were very small and I’m speaking small as in pinkie size small length and width wise. I can understand if they are cutting wings off of fresh young chickens then it would make sense and I’d go back if that is the case. Bigger doesn’t always mean better health wise so I can relate regarding the source of food that restaurants get from suppliers. I think the 10 piece wings and rice was 17.00$ roughly! I will give them another try maybe, but not with the wings!
Service: No complaints! The woman at the register was very attentive and patient. I didn’t see many people come in during my visit.
Atmosphere: Low-Key, no thrills! The restroom was immaculate! To some people this is important and a typical tell-tale sign of how the “back of the house” is also! The parking is very easy and some spaces are right at the door!

I order from here a couple times a month and the food has always been pretty good. Ordered on Saturday and there was a piece of plastic in my cheesesteak, like a tie from a package. Luckily, I saw it before I ate it, could have possibly choked. I just called to let them know, after the phone rang several times someone answered the phone “Hello”, when I asked if this was the Grub Shack they hung up. I called back and the phone just rang. I.will think twice before ordering again

My wife and I have eating at Grub Shack for years. The older Asian gentleman and the rest of the staff as well as the food have always been top notch. Today we went in and after checking the order our order. my wife ordered a veggie Philly sub, she informed the young lady that all of the veggies were removed (this is odd seeing as it’s a veggie Philly sub). The young lady (a heavy set Asian women) told my wife I had them removed when I ordered my cheese burger I explained to her I did no such thing and she proceeded to show me the order on her computer. I explained to her that myself nor my wife ordered the veggies removed, it doesn’t make sense. She would not take the sub back and put the veggies on it. Instead she became confrontational because we were upset, we didn’t see the problem with her fixing the sub that we already paid for but she would not. I then asked for a refund and the shouting match ensued. After leaving we were informed by several other individuals that this type of customer service from that particular young lady occurs often. This saddens me because we’ve never had these types issues with the other staff members. They have always went above and beyond. To the owners/ managers- this young ladies attitude and customer service are costing you business. Because of this interaction with her my wife and I don’t want to come back.

The food is GREAT (for a take-out). I love the seafood boil options: it’s pretty tasty for the money! I admit that I might like the flavor of some other restaurants crab boils a tiny bit better, I’m not missing anything an extra dash Old Bay won’t fix when I’m spending $20 less than the pocket robber Juicy Crab down the way. Catfish and wings are good. Plus they have fried green tomatoes and plenty more options – including vegetables that you can’t get at Juicy Crab. Whenever they serve lunch specials, the cook throws down. I haven’t seen those in a while but I’ll welcome them. I have dined in before and the owner, an elderly Asian lady was so very nice and hospitable, based on her service, who could dare complain? That said, while there are plenty of open tables, the dusty old decor significantly detracts from this diner’s ability to host a romantic dinner or birthday. Just save time and let them do all the cooking, carry out, then eat at home or at Wheeler Park or find an outdoor table in nearby Olde Towne Conyers.

The food is actually good but unfortunately the customer service was poor. The big Asian woman was rude. It was my first time visiting and I had a question about the Po-Boy fish sandwich and what they put on it because I don’t like onions and she gave me an attitude as if she couldn’t be bothered to answer that simple question. I thought it was just me or that she was just having a bad day that day.
A couple of days later, my mom and daughter went there for food and when they got their order, they noticed a mistake and told her about it. She looked at them and flat out said that she didn’t feel like going back there to tell the cook about the mistake. Her attitude and customer service skills are horrendous. I can see many confrontations in her future that will not be good for her.

Researched fish spots on the way through Conyers and this location popped up. When I arrived I immediately noticed that the restaurant is very clean. The lady at the counter was very attentive and they were playing worship music. I ordered whiting, shrimp, hush puppies and fries. The whiting was very fresh and I enjoyed it. Not thrilled with the shrimp but I am a picky eater. The hush puppies were amazing and had corn kernels in them. The generous amount of crinkle cut fries had a seasoned salt on them and were delicious. I was hoping for grits; however, they did not have grits at this spot. Overall I would recommend if you are in the area.
