Grouper & Chips – Updated 2026, Seafood Restaurant in Naples, FL
Reviews
The New England seafood chowder is rich and comforting without being heavy. I had the linguine with blackened grouper, and it was outstanding: perfectly seasoned, flaky fish tossed with olive oil, garlic, fresh vegetables, and their signature lemon beurre blanc, finished with a warm petite pan roll.
The tempura-battered grouper and fries is a classic for a reason—ultra-fresh fish, light and crispy batter, never greasy, with solid fries, fresh coleslaw, and great tartar sauce.
Do not skip dessert. The “Dark & Tart” key lime pie with chocolate mousse is bright, tangy, creamy, and indulgent in the best way.
Great food, genuinely friendly service, and consistent execution make this a must-eat in Naples.
Ps the place is tiny and cozy so be prepared to wait during prime dinner hours, but it’s totally worthwhile
I was locked in on the grouper basket and was torn between fried and blackened. Fortunately they were able to make me 2 fried and 1 blackened—both were truly outstanding. Fresh, perfectly cooked. I would have been satisfied with 2 piece basket but was happy to have 3 pieces. Although not the star of the meal the basket comes with cole slaw and fries. A truly excellent meal with excellent service—my tea never ran empty.
I came for the Key Lime pie and it was an excellent finish to a perfect meal out.
First off, the restaurant was uncomfortably warm; the AC needs some serious attention. Then came the food, and unfortunately, it was a disappointment from start to finish. The seafood chowder had a strong, fishy smell that was so off-putting I only had a single bite. My husband, bless his heart, finished it just so the $11 wouldn’t go to waste. The hush puppies were small and dry.
We both ordered the 1/2 shrimp and 1/2 grouper fried meals, and the food was incredibly lackluster. The fries and coleslaw were decent, and the shrimp were just okay—they could have used a lot more seasoning. The real problem was the grouper. It was tasteless and tough, almost certainly overcooked. It’s baffling how a battered and fried fish could have zero crunch and zero flavor, but they managed to perfect it. We weren’t the only ones who thought so, either; the table behind us even sent their fried grouper back.
The small seating area felt cramped, and the service wasn’t great. Our waitresses seemed more interested in chatting with their “regular” customers than checking on everyone else. As frequent travelers who rely on honest reviews, and leave honest reviews we absolutely cannot recommend this place. We ended up wasting $100 on a lunch that was profoundly underwhelming.
My wife and I both went for the grouper in two different ways. I selected a basket with 2 pieces that were fried, which also came with fries and coleslaw. My wife chose blackened, with the same sides.
My grouper was super fresh, and tasted fantastic! But I have to say, my wife’s blackened grouper looked equally good, and she loved hers as well.
And the service was wonderful also! Very friendly wait staff that was regularly checking in with us.
But there is more. Just when we thought we were done, our server high recommended the key lime pie. We had just enough room to share a piece, and, oh man, were we so happy we did. One of the better ones I’ve had in a long time!
Needless to say, we must come back to sample more!
We went with a fried grouper sandwich basket, blackened grouper tacos, conch fritters, and a cup of grouper chowder.
You could taste the freshness in every bite! Worth the wait to get a table (it’s a small spot in a strip mall), but you can tell the locals love eating there.
