We love Grounds For Thought. I came here often when I started classes in 2017 and went on dates with my girlfriend to get a late coffee and treat. Now that we’re married and have kids, we come here for coffee and treats and kids books! The atmosphere is instantly welcoming and the food and drinks are always amazing. I love seeing people spend time together. Whether it’s having a conversation or getting lost in a book, this is the place to do it. I’m sure the students trying to study or unwind don’t love hearing the kids, but I’m grateful that the patrons and staff put up with a little bit of toddler energy regardless because my family loves going to Grounds For Thought.

Such a cute place! My partner and I came here on our first date and recently came back to celebrate our one year together. The staff are all so slay and the drinks are fantastic, as always. We even bought stickers and shirts because they were so cute and reasonably priced.

Cute bookstore/coffee shop combo with puzzles, chess, checkers, and plenty of places to sit. Great book selection too, and delicious coffee!

Wonderful independent coffee / used book store. All kinds of interesting books, comics, and other things to browse. Also a good location to catch up with friends, play board games, or work remotely for a bit. My last visit I also spotted that they have a free puzzle swap – bring a puzzle, take a puzzle. Awesome idea! Coffee and drinks are very good and they have a pastry menu with solid sweets.

This is a very chic and eclectic environment in the heart of Bowling Green where you can hang out with your friends over a delicious cup of specialty brewed coffee or tea and preview many books or albums, or comic books that are for sale.
They have table games too!
The staff is very friendly, and the selections are all very delicious!
A great place to meet people!!

The people here were very friendly! Chess club is enjoyable, hung out with some friends and played chess while sipping some of their delicious coffee. Definitely worth a visit! Beautiful book variety and good location. Very nice place. The only complaint I have is one cashier gave me the coins with my change, and one didn’t. Very nice place, worth a visit!

When you picture a coffee shop in a college town, this one hits all of the high-points – books to read/purchase, many different tables, people engaged in all kinds of conversations, other gaming, and people playing chess. The walls are covered with years of posters and older pictures. Generally a warm place to hang-out.
The shop is very big with a significant amount of seating at tables as small as two and large enough to hold 10. The espresso was excellent and the pastries were good even in the late afternoon. Staff behind the counter was awesome, answered the couple of questions we had.
Certainly a place to stop and get your caffeine fix!

I love the coffee and the used bookstore aspect of it is great. Everyone here is so nice and I’ve even been complimented on my reading list. I don’t know why that inflates my ego – it’s not like I wrote any of the books.

The best little hideaway in BG! Excellent drinks/coffees, the baked goods are outstanding and the best part is being nestled into a diverse library of books and music. Grab some vintage stamps and trade in read books for a book credit! Cannot recommend more! We love GFT!

Wonderful Coffee Shop in Bowling Green with variety of flavors, tea, ice cream, nice baked goods, and very neat environment with comics, and bookstore. Looks like a coffee shop in a library with lively music; nice place to sit and read, study, work on puzzles or play board games. It is a local favorite from my understanding. Staff are knowledgeable about where the beans are sourced from and competent in distinguishing them. They also have a chess board if you’re into that! Vinyl Records are there also.
They also have a thing where you can SEND POST CARDS!!
