Went in today for lunch since I was downtown. This was my first time and my wife recommended the STP Dipper. It was pretty good but that Formula 45 sauce made it so much better. Service was great and the food is reasonably priced.

There are many options for lunch and/or sandwiches/burgers in downtown Greenville and while staying there I wanted to make sure I picked a winner and I chose this one based on the reviews. Coming in, there were many tables available, so I just sat at a hi-top community table, since I was alone. The young lady taking care of me was very friendly and did a nice job giving me her feelings about the menu. I opted for one of the subs she liked, the STP Dipper. I asked for their pasta salad as a side.
It was made pretty quickly and delivered to the table and looked pretty good. Unfortunately, it came with their potato salad instead of the pasta salad I asked for. I say “unfortunately” because they make a sweeter version and I think it might have pickles. So, I tried it – Didn’t like it. So, when she came around to check on me I pointed out to her that I got potato salad and she quickly apologized and went and got me a side of pasta salad. The pasta salad was a little odd, it was sweet too, but had some interesting ingredients. I tried a few bites, but wasn’t a fan.
As for the sub – it was pretty good! The sauce they give with it, the Formula 45 was also on the sweet side, but the description seemed to make me think of fast food special sauce (A.K.A. Big Mac sauce) and this definitely was not that, it was much better. It works pretty nicely with this sub’s ingredients and I really liked the bread and the pop of bacon bits on it really brought it together nicely.
Overall, I would most definitely return and wished there was a location closer to me so I could try more of the menu, as I feel I missed out on other options that might have been better. I’m VERY disappointed in their horrible sides, as least the two I tried. I feel they could improve there. Service was very nice and made up for the poor sides.

I’m ALWAYS THRILLED never grouchy with lunch at Groucho’s
FOOD> Groucho’s Deli Club Sandwich for Two which includes double the meat, specifically turkey breast and/or ham, plus crispy bacon, lettuce, and tomato on your choice of bread. I got it on toasted wheat which + a bit of spicy mustard and it was delicious It is served with two bags of chips and two dill pickle spears. It was plenty for me and I thought the sweet tea was Southern perfection as was the snickerdoodle sugar cookie which was one of those “right out of the oven” to die for confections!
SERVICE>The sweet Gal who took care of us, was so lovely She gave me my all time favorite Formula 45 sauce and then as I went to leave she offered me a little sample of her favorite Formula 95 which she highly recommended! It is more tangy but just as delicious
GIFT IDEA I attached the Formula Menu so you can order YOUR very own favorite one by the pint and send it to me for Christmas/Mother’s Day/Birthday as that would be the perfect gift or for that foodie in your life
VALUE> The price was right with the “for 2” offering – it came with chips and a dill spear
ATMOSPHERE> Each Groucho’s is different, but this one feels like a tavern. It would be a great place to grab a bite with friends or loves ones downtown anytime!
LOCATION> It’s located literally in the heart of downtown Greenville so please consider this yummy eatery if you are staying nearby or at a festival. It’s also an easy walk to several parking garages and has a variety of street parking options.

We actually wanted to go to Windy City Burger , but that place was packed, no where to sit and it smelled like food was burnt. So we went to Groucho’s instead. We are glad we did! The sandwiches were delicious. I had the Apollo. My wife had the White Moose on gluten free bread, as she has an allergy to wheat. Gluten free bread is usually not good, but this was very good she said. Our server was very friendly.

One of my favorite lunch spots in downtown Greenville! I love this location of Groucho’s. Staff is always friendly and the food is always good. The only suggestion I would have is to keep Sweet-N-Low in stock for diabetic customers who cannot drink sweet tea. That would mean a lot!

First time dining in at Groucho’s and was very pleased with the customer service from the waiter. I wish I had gotten his name but I forgot to ask so whomever was working around 4pm on Friday the 21st, thank you for providing excellent service.
I tried the Groucho’s BLT which was delicious, next time I order it I will ask for it without the third piece of bread. (Because it is triple layer-personal preference) the pasta salad is delicious, I liked the cauliflower and carrots in it. The chips were almost near perfect, they were thin but crunchy and not overly salty. The waiter also provided me with the house sauce to try since it was my first time visiting and it reminded me of a sweeter thousand island dressing. Nonetheless it was tasty for dipping my chips and sandwich in it. The sweet tea is a must order, it is literally just right as far as sweetness and the ice makes it 2x better.
The atmosphere is clean and spacious, good food and awesome sweet tea. I would definitely add Groucho’s to the list of “must try’s”. I will be back again!

My first visit to Groucho’s was overall a pleasant experience. A little confusing initially with where to order/sit for dining in, but once I placed my order at the counter everything went smoothly. Really good club on sub roll stacked ridiculously high. Coleslaw was unique and delicious. Great customer service, very friendly staff. The restaurant itself was a little worn and the tables could use to be wiped down, but overall a good experience. Pricy for a sub, but then again it’s a lot of food per serving and the location is in the heart of downtown so it’s to be expected. Would recommend.

Groucho’s has been around for years and the food and service has remained consistent. I’ve never had a bad meal from there, the staff is always nice, and the restaurant is clean. The food is fairly priced and after getting a salad at only $12, I feel I ripped them off
The salad was loaded as you can see and the house ranch *chef’s kiss* the lettuce wasn’t wet or brown. The only complaint I have is that I wish I ordered two.

The deli club sandwich was pretty good, but kind of dry. The service was ok she never smiled. We sat for awhile waiting for a check, we asked for a bill she said pay up front tell them the table #. How we should have known the table # I’m not sure ( nothing on the table). When I went to pay I saw they charged me for a cup of water. Since when is water in a restaurant not free??? The building is brick and obviously not heated because it was sooo cold you needed to wear your winter jacket while you eat. 1st and last visit for me. I see a lot of great post guess it was an off day?
