We love this place! The beer is ice cold with fabulous prices and the food is excellent.
The game room keeps the grandkids occupied too!
Only complaint is how loud the Dueling football games are at the same time. Other than that, we really enjoy coming here and the staff is top notch!

Was told I had to try the pizza from this place. So we gave it a try, pizza was decent but the service was lacking. All we did was order a pizza and wait for it. But I had to tell them that the pizza was sitting there with my name on it before I could get it. Most seemed more distracted with their phones.
The facility was nice and could handle large parties it looked like. The bar area liked really nice as well. Bathroom was clean and stocked also had a decent sized arcade.
If I would go for more food there I would stop and dine in to see if it is any better.

Grotto Pizza is a great Delaware pizza chain. The location in front of Dover Motor Speedway used to be our go-to spot for fantasy football drafts before COVID, so it has some good memories attached to it. The food is consistently good and the service has always been great. Still a solid choice whenever we’re in the area.

We started with the sausage dip (new) and it had really good flavor. My wife ordered extra crispy wings. She wasn’t extremely happy. They were a little crispy hap but way too much old bay rub. I had the mushroom specialty pizza (new). It wasn’t too bad. I love mushrooms, but I couldn’t tell if it had mushrooms because of all the cheese.

My sister who attend UD said I had to stop by for the “best” pizza. Had the cheese with the sauce swirl and wings. Would place the pie slightly higher than the chains. Pizza good for delivery or for watching a game.
I did really like the wings in the special grotto sauce a mixture of hot sauce, ranch and blue cheese. That was memorable!

Karissa was AMAZING. Luigi, the manager, is pretty terrible. When asking to sub onion rings instead of fries proved to be a huge issue. I even said I would pay extra. He kept going, “wellllll…. Idk if I can. Well, if other places like milford and the beach do it, then they are not doing it by the book…” which they always do. Not to mention, I have an autistic child, so he only gets a hamburger patty no roll or anything plain. I always pay al a carte for that, but he was not willing to do that. He said he didn’t care. He said he would do the onion rings but not a la carte for the burger patty only. The French fries were grease logged and cold. My chicken cheese steak was cold, and the mozzarella sticks were as well. The worst part was the pizza. We asked for extra cheese and no swirl (kiddos hate the swirl. They are toddlers) the pizza was greasey, cold, and NO EXTRA CHEESE. First, if you are going to raise the prices, then you need to make sure you provide the results. A large pizza is 21.99 and 3 dollars extra for extra cheese. There is no way this was extra cheese. We frequent the milford location and beach, and they are so much better. When asking the waitress what is going on with all the issues, she said she apologized for it, but it was extra cheese the kitchen said. The picture will be below. There were no customers, really. Just one other table and a few at the bar. This place was so much better when Emily was manager. Bring her back. Luigi does not need to be working there. He is not personable and sucks as a manager overall. He seems unhappy the entire time. Overall, the price was 73 dollars for garbage. So upset, and no reason to get Luigi for help because he wasn’t going to help according to staff. NOT WORTH THE MONEY! Wish I could give a zero stars!

UPDATE 01/17/26: Google asked me to update this. Not a lot to update other than the fact that a friend and I sat at a table in the bar area and the dude who took care of us was a Navy veteran. I served in the Marine Corps and enjoyed shooting the breeze with this brother. Excellent food and beyond excellent service.
UPDATE 05/11/23: Google asked me to update my review. I still enjoy coming to this location. This time I was here with a friend. She ordered a Cosmopolitan and I ordered a couple Brandy Alexanders. It was the bartender’s first time making a Brandy Alexander and my first time drinking them. They tasted great, despite not having any nutmeg available. I got a small anti pasto salad, which was awesome and my friend got the soup of the day, which I believe was “shrimp and corn” (?) or something I wouldn’t have expected. She was pleased with it.
Excellent. The French onion soup could have had a bit more sodium, but otherwise great.
UPDATE 04/29/22:. Went there last night and had a personal pizza with pepperoni and anchovies. While I could have handled more anchovies, it was decent. We also got a basket of fries and some bruschetta that the table split and they were also decent.
