So I went to Groton Townhouse after therapy I felt like a nice salad. This is what they served as a BLT SALAD. The lettuce was bulky with a lot of spine pieces the bacon hard then egg medium well just very unapealing. The manager refuse to see me and it least offer a alternative. The server simply said he’s busy and can’t come out but he did come out to greet another coustomer. My last time with them.

From the looks of it I definitely was judging a book by its cover, but once I got the nice server with the black hair, she was very friendly and very nice. It was to be like he was the only server working, but she had an amazing job with managing all of her guests.

I read a review on this place – OP was happy with their food but their child was not. They said the spaghetti sauce tasted weird and I concur.

Was in town for the weekend and woke up from a night at the hotel hungry for a classic breakfast. Coming from NYC, I see fewer and fewer diners these days and was super glad to find Groton Townhouse. Usually I try to stick with places with 4.5 ratings and above, cause why not right? But this place had a 4.3 and I truly think for a diner they should be a 5.0. My wife got the corned beef hash with eggs and I got 2 eggs with sausage. Everything came out perfect! I asked for my potatoes to be crispy and they were perfect. My wife’s corned beef hash was as good as it gets. The sausages were links but not the big fat links that make me feel like I’ll clog an artery, but the thinner ones like the ones from jimmy dean. One thing I really liked was that nothing was burnt, my over easy eggs were cooked perfectly and on top of all that, our waitress who has been with the diner since it opened 16 years ago was phenomenal and super friendly! Definitely marking this one down in my favorites for next time I’m in town!

Had a wonderful breakfast this morning. I had the Mexican omelette with a side of two whole wheat pancakes and home fries. Pancakes were good but not super fluffy. They are very conservative on syrup portions but two containers were enough for me (I wanted more but don’t need it by any means). Eggs were sort of bland but omelette was otherwise okay. Coffee was great and milk served ice cold with meal. My family were served and attended to very well.

Came here for mother’s day with my daughter and her mom. They were packed and the food expensive compared to other restaurants and similar dishes. I ordered a pizza burger. The first burger came with just the patty and cheese. I had them fix it while being patient. Thy brought it back with only sauce added. That still is not a pizza burger. If I wanted only sauce, I’d have ordered a burger with sauce added and save some money. Staff is polite, for the most part, which is why I gave it 3 stars.

As a Jersey boy, I missed my diners. Diners in CT just aren’t the same with their limited menu and breakfast focus. So I was ecstatic when I found the Townhouse, which is a true diner: where you can order an omelet, a gyro, lobster, and a big slice of cake at 9AM or 9PM. Only complaint is since the pandemic, they have ceased being open 24 hours a day, but I’m glad they stayed open!

For as old and established as the teahouse is, it’s pretty well put together still. Great eats for a great price. Highly recommend.

This is a hole in the wall type of place. It does have a variety of food but I definitely love the breakfast. You can never go wrong with the breakfast. I got country fried steak and eggs. They got me hooked.
