No idea why, but I’ve been on some sort of golf course restaurant kick lately, and now I’ve added the Edison Clubs food to my belt. Wanted to try their Cajun Chicken Sandwich, but was told they were out of chicken or cajun or a combination of the two. Sad.
So I ordered over the phone, falling back on the Turkey Panini with a side order of Onion Rings. Only coming to a total of $20 before tax, which isn’t terrible.
Picking up I got a look around and man, what a location, they had a big pool with life guards on duty, tennis courts, the golfing holes, the restaurant, and probably more I didn’t notice. That said, it did all look, antiquated, some buildings had boarded up windows, some of the golf karts were of varying ages, and the outdoor bar had birds nesting in the rafters above and a swarm of wasps buzzing around the drinks. I was, unimpressed.
Got my food and got out, almost being blocked in by some unthinking member who tried parking their SUV in a spot that’s not for parking. Lovely.
Back home I was scrutinizing the size of the Panini, it looked rather small for the price, and it was missing the side of “chips” it was suppose to come with. Now I did get my order of onion rings, and they were shocking crispy for having been in a plastic container, but I was still shorted on my order despite paying for full price. Disappointing.
As for taste, the panini was alright. It wasn’t what I really wanted, and was comparable to a number of mediocre paninis I’ve eaten. The onions rings were quite good though, crispy, good onion flavor, and not too bready or juicy. Be that as it may, I was still left with a forgettable meal with the only memorable parts being the past-its-prime location.
