Stopped here for the first time on Sunday for dinner. Ordered to-go… lamb chops, macaroni and cheese, and yams. Temperature of food was excellent, Everything was seasoned well…tastes great. Compliments to the chef fr! Parking is tight. There were cars double parked, which is why I ordered take out. I will be a repeat customer.

We sat ourselves and waited 10 min for someone to come over and acknowledge us. The waitress brought us the menus and got us water. We had to ask for the drink menu. Neither menu had non-alcoholic options. I got the lemon drop that tasted like plain lemonade. Smh. When she came back we ordered. I got the fried green tomatoes for an app, Ceasar salad and the steak with veggies over rice. My husband got the fried calamari and catfish dinner. His mashed potatoes were not mashed, just big chunks of potato mixed in with a small amount of mash. The server brought all of my food out at the same time. Smh, so I already knew my entree was going to be cold because I had other food to eat first. I asked for well done steak and received med well steak. The fried green tomatoes were about as thick as a deck of cards and as hard as a rock. I ate one that was sliced thinner, they had no flavor whatsoever. So I just ate my salad until the server returned to the table so I could tell her about my steak. It took her 35 min. I told her it was not cooked to the right temp and now the whole thing was cold. She took it back and brought it back after 20 more min. The steak was cooked correctly but it was lukewarm, the rice and veggies were cold, but the plate was hot. Smh, I don’t even know how you do that. I put it in a to go box and after flipping it over to where the bottom was on the top I felt just how cold it was and asked her to take it off the bill because I was not going to eat it. So long story long…I paid $95 to eat a Ceasar salad and drink a $16 lemonade. And left still hungry.

Perhaps more professional servers are needed. Long waits for the return of food and drinks. The Lemon drop was pretty tasty but not worth $16. That’s a ridiculous price for a cocktail with only Ciroc and triple sec. Keep in mind, that no drink prices are listed. If they don’t want to list the price then they must feel it’s just as ridiculous. The Lobster bites tasted like they were frozen and fried. The dip should have been house-made like a lemon aioli with dill. Broccoli needs green or Lawry’s seasoning, not just butter, it was bland. The garlic mash could have used some cracked black pepper and parsley. Then the server added 18% because we were with a large party, however, her tip was more than the price of my drink and 3 times what it was worth for the service, an hour wait on wings? Other than that, the place was neat and clean.

Ordered some burgers, yams and chicken tenders. Everything came out great!!! Not overcooked, fries were pretty & hot not greasy! Yams were sweet but not overly. Waitress was very kind as well. There is 18% gratuity already added to bill (party of 2) so be mindful if sitting down to eat. Would definitely come back to try other things on menu

It was my first time! Went during the afternoon right after the opened. I got the salmon alfredo, soul rolls. My aunt got the perch dinner with mac and cheese, and my big cousin got cornbread. Everything was great and the service was good!

I appreciate something so close to me is consistent. Many restaurants in our are typical bar food, fast food, over priced food or inconsistent.
Food here is consistently great, including the atmosphere & service…especially for being so busy most times.
I wouldn’t recommend them if you’re in a rush. But the time is still very reasonable. They’re cooking food to order minus our favorite side dishes that tastes like someone’s grandma is in the kitchen, that require that Thanksgiving Dinner prep goodness lol
Most restaurants struggle to maintain quality and service when they’re consistently busy (which is ironic).
Today I was craving some great mac and greens, but the phone line was so busy, I decided to head up there and just order and wait…which is a huge risk these days.
I never realized they had a completely different door and servicing area separate from the dine in area. Restaurants should follow their lead; this works for Cheese Cake Factory and certainly is working for them.
I loved how I could see the kitchen. Service was with a friendly smile, and my food was done when they said it would be.
Did I mention it was fantastic?

This is my first time here and I absolutely love this restaurant. It was so nice inside the calamari was superb. The sorrows was good. The drinks were good. This is all around a place to go a good vibe so if you and Cleveland and you wanna get some good soul food go to grill 55 and our server Nae was amazing she greeted us with a smile. She made a drinks brought our food out top-tier service.

Absolutely phenomenal in every way! The Lobster Bites are worth every penny, the Catfish is both crispy and juicy, the mac and cheese is perfect, and the yams go well with literally everything. My wife got the wings too and love them! If I could give it 6 stars I would, wow! Great place to spend my birthday!!

Thank you so much this food was soooo good I ordered the shrimp Alfredo I wanted more even in a full stomach lol. The vibe was so relaxing. It was an issue with another customer and the way they handled it was also great. I will have to go back for sure I was celebrating my birthday and it’s been years that I was able to enjoy and I enjoyed every moment with the music and the vibe of feeling safe being out. My friends and family really showed up for me.
