Wow, what a cool place! I liked the decor and the open space. The tables are fabulous. I got the shrimp nachos and they were huge. My son got steak tacos and my mom got a chicken dish with sides. Everyone kept saying how good it was the whole time. A wide assortment of drinks. Really thinking outside the box with the different choices of foods. The crew was very nice.

What a great find. Friendly service, cute place with large tables that can accommodate a big group and great food. They prepared something special for my vegan diet which was a carribean inspired lentil dish over rice with a little heat and delicious plantains and my husband had the Cuban jibarito and deep fried corn. All the plants are so beautiful! Check this place out.

Wow! This place all around was amazing! The cook was so nice and very knowledgeable! My son has an egg allergy and she knew everything that he could have. They were so friendly and welcoming it felt very “home” like. The food was amazing! I got the chicken curry and let me tell you…. I was stuffed half way through but somehow pushed my self to finish the whole plate! Wow! She can cook her but off! I’m so stuffed and satisfied and can’t move off this couch lol

UPDATED 2024 REVIEW BELOW!

April 2023:
Very open space restaurant. Visited this place 2 times and both experiences was great. My husband and I order many items and let me just say THE WINGS are great! THE POTATO SALAD is great and THE CHICKEN STEW with Spanish rice OMG amazing!!! We loved every bite of these foods. Had a misunderstanding about the Pico de Gallo. It’s Pineapple Pico. A few item descriptions were misleading but through communication everything was resolved.

Looking forward to visiting again!

January 2024:
I had high hopes for Grillbillies! Our first visit was in April 2023 and WE LOVED THIS PLACE!!! Unfortunately, the recent visit left much to be desired, and I feel compelled to share my experience.

The journey itself was not easy; I drove over 90 miles, south, out of my way, and endured a chilly 10-minute walk just to get to this place. Upon arrival, the first red flag appeared. The lady who took our order seemed more interested in my partner than in ensuring our experience was pleasant. Her intense gaze and forgetfulness left us feeling uncomfortable, to say the least.

The issues escalated when our food arrived. To start, I was handed a small baby fork while my husband received a real fork. The request for a proper fork was met with a dismissive laugh and an apologetic “oh, sorry.” I let it go.

Our order was equally disappointing. We ordered chicken stew with Spanish rice but were presented with a plate of rice, potatoes, and eight chunks of chicken. The potato salad, which we LOVED on a previous visit, was notably different. BRING BACK THE WHITE, THREW OUT THE YELLOW! Strangely, when the young lady brought out some of our food, she would do this switch-a-ru thing… very unsettling when we ordered the exact same items…maybe it’s just me ( but ik I’m not crazy). The chicken wings appeared nearly undercooked, not smoked. Shockingly, the eggrolls were covered in frying oil but still frozen. Even after sending it back, the second batch of eggrolls arrived visibly burnt.

When we brought these issues to the attention of the chef on duty, his initial response was very dismissive. Despite explaining that we had visited Grillbillies just a few months prior and noticed a significant decline in quality, he dismissed our concerns and even implied that we were dishonest about our previous meal. It wasn’t until we presented photos of our previous meal that the chef’s attitude shifted. Suddenly concerned, he offered to rectify the situation. However, by this point, the damage was done.

I find it regrettable to leave a negative review, but Grillbillies played with our expectations and seemed indifferent to the quality of their food. As a trucker, finding good food and telling our other trucker friends is SO FUN, unfortunately we won’t be returning nor recommending this place. I hope this review encourages a reevaluation of the experience at Grillbillies.

Jerk chicken is a complete joke. Spice is there, however it seems to be too tough! Chicken isn’t tender! How is your jerk chicken not tender?! Is this bake bbq jerk chicken?! I’m at a complete lost! Maybe they need more love , so they can have some self respect. My fork couldn’t pull the chicken apart so I opted for knife and fork if my chicken is like this, then probably all served is tough. I’ll check in a few months if they’re still open.

We had a fabulous experience here!
What a neat spot tucked into Clarksboro. Highly recommend trying! BYOB as well.

Food took a while to come out and was a little luke warm, but it didn’t matter it was so yummy!!! Ask for fresh corn bread!

What a neat place! We were visiting some friends and all decided to try here for the first time. Absolutely incredible food, extremely friendly staff and such a cool atmosphere. I got the pickle burger and could not believe how amazing it was. Great prices too. Can’t wait to come again next time we’re in the area!

Great new place! We tried a few of the empanadas and they were both delicious. The BBQ brisket sliders were very good. The brisket was tender and juicy and overall a good choice. I really enjoyed the Shrimp Po Boy. Generous amount of shrimp with drizzled with a spicy mayo. I’d go back for that sandwich for sure! Nice that it’s BYOB with a great beer store in the same plaza. I see some mixed reviews, but all I can say is that we had a very good (and a bit unexpected) experience on our first visit. It won’t be our last. In fact, I was just about to call and place an order for empanadas!

They have incredible (and freshly made!) ribs, brisket, pulled pork, AND empanadas/Street tacos. I haven’t found better hushpuppies around! They serve alligator and have a variety of unique meats (like antelope, alligator, ostrich, etc) available to purchase as well as jerky, hot sauce and rubs from small businesses.

11/10 couldn’t recommend enough

Update: food has become less consistent, reduced rating a bit.

I don’t like leaving bad reviews, but they straight up served me a partially raw chicken sandwich. The parts I got through before realizing it was partially raw were delicious. But you served raw chicken.

Tostones and the cooked parts of the sandwich were excellent. Maybe just steer away from anything that could be undercooked.
