My dad loves coming here because when we go shopping for ingredients of his native food, we can come get prepared delicious meals on hand.
Cafeteria style, you can choose from grilled fish, meats, vegetable and meat dishes, noodles, desserts and more!
My recommendation
Grilled pompano fish
Laing (taro leaves in coconut milk)
Lechon kawali (crispy pork)
Housed inside of the Seafood City Supermarket is the Grill City eatery. Although most people get food to go, there are many tables adjacent, to enjoy a quick snack or meal right there as well. Grill City is kept pretty clean, well lit, and full of food choices. It’s a treat to see them grilling the chicken skewers and boy do they look and smell good! There’s usually more than 25 different items to choose from, not to mention dessert items.
I’ve only eaten the Pansit Palabok, Turon, Pinakbit, chicken skewers, Bagnet, and flan here. I found the prices for regular dishes to be decent, however, the Bagnet and other fried pork specialty dishes are quite pricey. I’ve only gotten food to go, but the seating area seems pleasant, however it is inside a supermarket, so it’s not an ambiance of choice.
I read some reviews of horrible service, however, I’ve never experienced or seen any bad service there whatsoever. The workers have always been pleasant and helpful the times I’ve frequented. It’s not the best Filipino food, but it’s decent. This food counter is inside a supermarket, it’s not a restaurant, so it should be reviewed as such.
I will continue to come here and get the usual items that I aways get since it’s convenient. If you want a place where you can see all the dishes and sample a wide variety of Filipino food, then don’t hesitate to give Grill City a try if you’re in the area.
I loved the stuffed chili lumpia. Wow never had these before. It’s so delicious that we came back for a total of 3 times to date to make sure we got whatever they sold. They also sell foot long Turon, and yes it’s fat not skinny (in addition to regular sized). So yummy nummy!
Also, we love the Halo Halo here, it’s sweet but not too sweet;better than most Filipino shops. So I’m totally a believer now. I do prefer the crunchy toppings, though and it’s not offered.
Btw, they had a sign 9/10/22, buy $25 minimum anywhere in the store and u get Halo Halo Overload (with the toppings) for $2 (for that day only). So I bought 3 different times in the same date and time frame I was there. Food separate, bakery item separate, separate receipt for Green Tea Ice Cream separate. Well, when I went to redeem the 3 receipts so I could claim the $2 overload Halo Halo, they refused. They said it should show up in one receipt. SO YEAH WE FELT RIPPED OFF! So, I’m venting it here so if you go, BE VERY CLEAR WHEN U ASK THEM FOR THEIR “SPECIALS”. With over 3 million views the algorithm should have everyone get the message. (My only beef for now).
Also, they have a bakeryeith yummy nummy ube pan de sal with cream cheese in it. So yummy guys. It’s worth heading out there in spite of 1 complaint.
anyway, go to either tita’s or chowking nearby for options that are actually delicious and not poisonous
