Tiny little place you don’t want to miss if you’re passing through Texarkana. This gem serves up home-style American food that doesn’t just feed your body, it nourishes your soul.
This food is good medicine. I had fried fish: perfectly cooked, crispy with a thin crumb coating. The meat flaked off the bones. Don’t get me started on the Mac and Cheese. It was phenomenal.
The staff were cheerful and friendly and made us feel right at home. I get the feeling you could get a variety of foods here each day, and the place was clean and well-maintained.
10 out of 10, would eat again.

As good as it gets! Excellent smothered pork chops, fried chicken and baked chicken…butternut squash cabbage, rice, green beans all on point! Oh yeah, and a corn cake = yummy!

The Koolaid was excellent! The sweet potatoes and cabbage were great. I loved the chicken and dressing, which were better with cranberry sauce. The service was good, and the doors were open a little early.

The food at this restaurant is great! You can taste the “love” in it. They have some of the best home cooking and soul food in Texarkana.

Tried to go here multiple times but they were closed despite the hours. Finally caught them open. Standard soul food fare, but not great. The meatloaf was so salty I could barely eat it. I was starving or I wouldn’t have eaten it. The yams were so sweet they tasted like they came out of a can. The cabbage had no seasoning. The rice was mushy. The green beans tasted like canned beans with no seasoning. The only redeeming thing was the smothered pork chop, but it still wasn’t that great. Greg was there, and everyone was super nice and friendly. The restaurant was clean.

The food was excellent! The service was outstanding, and the atmosphere was basic and simple… Nonetheless, it was the simplicity that made it a wonderful experience; reminiscent of my local “mom-&-pop” shop servicing our community. Having said that, I met and spoke with the owner (Greg) and he said that this summer will make 24 years in business. Try to find another local restaurant that has been serving Texarkana for nearly a quarter century… I know of no other!
Neighbors and friends, it’s important to get out there and show some love to our local shops and restaurants. Thanks Greg (and staff), the wife and I had a great experience and we’ll definitely be back for more. Congratulations on your 24th year anniversary

I had the pork chops,(they made them fresh) smothered potatoes & cabbage, hot water corn bread & I had to try the German chocolate cake, it taste almost like grandma used to make. Overall I had a good food experience @ Greg’s, the staff was also nice. I will be back.

Oh. My! The food and service was excellent. The hot water cornbread was crispy like we like but I felt it needed salt. My personal preference. Loved the chicken and dumplings and my husband got fried chicken. We will be back the next time we are in Texarkana. I wish I had taken pictures. ☺️

Friendliest staff. Great service. Scrumpteous chicken and dressing with cabbage and smothered or smoked potatoes. With a side of cranberry sauce. With a hot water cornbread patty. Sweet tasty peach cobbler for dessert and a Coke. Tipped the business twice. So yummy that I forgot to take pictures. Me be greedy. Yikes.Yum.
