Greg’s BBQ is a hidden gem in the small town of Belen. It doesn’t look like much from the outside but it’s got a quirky divey character inside. The side room looks newer but has an ancient looking tile ceiling that’s really cool.
I got the shredded brisket sandwich and it was EXCELLENT. There was a perfect mix of juicy meat, char and fat. I got it with the “magic” sauce which is mixed spicy and sweet, and it was delicious. The sauce is quite sweet, Caroline style, which is my favorite and goes so well with the char and fat.
I also got the green beans which were well grilled and salted in (a lot of) butter. Delicious.
Our waitress was very nice and my total cost with a beer was $20. It was a nice stop on an otherwise long and boring drive.

I hadn’t eaten at Greg’s for over 2 years and stopped by today because I was in the area. Well the pulled pork sandwich and fries were as delicious as the last time I had them! My server was great and I chatted with Greg… I also took a half rack of the bbq pork ribs home to my husband to enjoy! I will return soon to enjoy more of Greg’s delicious bbq! Congratulations to you Greg for keeping your food delicious after all your years in business.

I ordered the brisket and pork plate. The brisket was good but a bit dry. The pork was very good. The potatoe salad and green beans where too salty for my taste. Service was outstanding!

This place is a diamond in the rough! This was our first time in the area, We were going to pass it bc it opened at 11am and my husband didn’t want to wait the 30 minutes lmfao but I convinced him and he kept saying how great his food was! The service was awesome (didn’t get her name but a sweet girl with a ponytail and some rad ear gauges was our waitress). She had a lot of great recommendations of her personal favorites and was very knowledgeable on the menu. I forgot to take a picture of my own food but I got the two meat plate too with double brisket, mac n cheese, and cajun fries. My husband got double brisket with mac n cheese and baked beans. Plus he’s a hungry man and got the loaded brisket baked potato too. All the sides were yummy. I do with the brisket portion was a little bit bigger but that’s just me ( you get one slice per order). We both felt like the baked potato had more brisket on it than the plates so next time I’ll get that instead. Either way it was still yummy. Juicy meat with little to no grisly fat. The plates also come with Texas toast bread so the meal was very filling at a great price for bbq. The pictures don’t do it justice the baked potato was huge and loaded with pure meat the cheese got lost. Sadly they don’t do ribs every day which I feel like is the epitome of barbecue, it’s only on Fridays they have ribs. Judging by the rest of the food I know those ribs have got to be delicious. The inside decor was also very very cute. There’s was even parking enough for our semi truck so we’re glad we could stop here to eat. 10/10 would recommend.

Best bbq within 100 miles of my home. Greg’s portions are huge and delicious. My only complaint is the service is unfriendly and unwelcoming in my experiences but the food makes it worth it. Greg’s is an absolute pitBOSS

I ate here once and it was ok, the place is nothing to brag about. The second time i went, i was appalled at how the waitress treated a veteran with a service dog. They hounded him about his reason for the service dog rather than accepting it and demanded to know what his problem was. That is a violation of HIPPA and no one’s else’s business! They just walked in the door and this waitress immediately got loud and demanded private information.
The dog was obviously very well trained and had a vest on and on a short leash. It started pawing the owner while they ratcheted up the situation, doing its job. The family left rather than continue being subjected to the harassment and I don’t blame them one bit.
I know they lost that families business and they certainly lost mine and everybody i have told about this so far.
There is a great BBQ place in los lunas at tractor brewing. I recommend going there instead.

Second time here and had another great meal. Got a recommend the cattlemen’s burger without a bun on it and some of their coleslaw. Thoroughly enthusiastic about how good their food is and I hope they add more to their menu.
The nachos are also great I wish they had a low carb option to replace the chips like some veggies or pork rinds.
Dropped by again and had another fantastic experience. I think the cheese on the nachos was a little gritty or grainy, but the food was fantastic as always.
