We accidentally stumbled upon this restaurant (after we were rudely turned off from 264 Fresco down the street…see my review on them separately).

This is a local favorite and is more reasonable than some of the other Italian high-end restaurants in Carlsbad. However, they do have a new menu now (they removed mayor Matt’s soup) and renamed it simply chicken soup and we had a good meal. I always have the lasagna with spicy sausage and it was delicious. Just a little pricey, and the atmosphere on the patio is super loud. Especially with traffic noise combining with people and music in a highly reflective environment. if you want a quiet meal sit inside

Perfect pear Arugula pizza, bread and butter served at the start. Good outdoor seating.

Loved that they have a patio area that’s dog friendly. My bolognese was okay. The calamari was great! Service was excellent.

The waitress was very friendly and spot on with our service! We sat outside with a beautiful breeze. The drinks were amazing and definitely top shelf ingredients were used. The dinner was delicious! I had chicken parm with angel hair spaghetti. The chicken was pounded n baked perfect and spaghetti cooked just right. No sticky hard blah taste. My friend ordered the ziti with sausage n mushrooms. I could not finish my meal, but my friend wiped theirs out. Lol…No room for dessert considering the plates were plentiful. Will be returning.

Food was pretty bad. Chicken Picatta was soggy with angel hair pasta. Chicken. Limone was pretty bad. Chicken tasted frozen and thawed from both dishes. Meatballs on the spaghetti were terrible. Spaghetti was decent. Bread and salads were good. The manager offered a free dessert, then gift certificates, then comped most of the $131 bill which was nice.

We went on a Wednesday night with the Swinging Johnsons band, it was amazing. If you get the chicken parm be prepared for NOT speghetti noodles. The chicken wasn’t great either. I returned the food, server asked to make me regular noodles, and if I wanted a dessert. I was not interested, they ended up charging trying to charge me for a meal I only ate maybe 5 bites of. The server finally got the manager to remove the meal from Bill. Aside from the disappointment of preparing for this meal all week, service was great and so was the entertainment.

We picked this spot on a whim because we had 12 people and needed a last-minute reservation. They could accommodate us which was great. Bread was solid. I got the chicken piccata which is my FAVE so I was stoked they had it. When it came out it was a plate of mushy thin spaghetti in gravy with one dinky piece of chicken. For $31. Everyone else said their food was okay. IMO You’re over-paying about $12 per entree for the location. Our server was amazing, friendly and comped my piccata. Overall a decent meal but not the best Italian of my life.

The pizza was good. I personally prefer more of a thin crust. It was stats thickness. We got cheese and Italian. I liked the cheese better. There are lots of toppings! They don’t skimp. The patio area has heated lamps, so we didn’t get cold. The service was pretty fast too. The main issue is really the parking on the weekends? It is next to impossible to find a spot.
