Great hole in the wall place that seems to take you a step back in time. The quaint grocery store which serves up food is a gem and worth the try.
We had burgers house fries and onion rings. All was great. The burgers were a thick patty. Fries were house cut home fries. Onion rings were crispy. Also had a sampling of the pinto beans and a generous serving of apple cobbler. Apple cobbler had just the right amount of cinnamon. Everything was great tasting.
The establishment is small with gravel parking with a step up into the restaurant so access is not very wheelchair friendly.
The staff is extremely friendly and make you feel right at home. The limited offerings on Friday and Saturday night come with live music.

Authentic Americana! We went on a Saturday night and enjoyed the amazing perfectly cooked catfish and a burger. Great family atmosphere and historic little postage stamp of a town. Julie, the owner, came out and visited with us and we took in the sunset on the patio while enjoying our BYOB beverages and watched the local kids prepare for a square dance across the street. Food was delicious and lots of cute photo op surround the store. The staff is sweet and your meal is cooked to order! Newly constructed patio cover made for enjoyable Al fresco dining. We missed the live music usually between 5-8pm on Saturday nights since the singer was sick so we will be back to enjoy the live music another time. Don’t miss this hidden gem just a little northeast of Decatur. Greenwood Grocery is a must visit!

Fun country diner with good diner food.. BLTs are delicious, hamburgers are big and tasty, and the onion rings can’t be beat. If you’re anywhere in the area, it’s worth the stop. Down home charm to the max.

This place was fun. We took a nice drive. Google kind of sent us on a wrong way which ended up to be entertaining but eventually when we got there it was quite quaint and small. They offered a vegetarian salad that was not on the menu and the cutest older gentleman with what may have been. His granddaughter was singing and playing guitar. The chocolate cream pie was to die for. There are two historical markers outside the store. Really a fun fun off the beaten path thing to do.

Absolutely wonderful little place! I hadn’t been in years so we decided to do breakfast there yesterday morning. Food was as delicious as I remembered. While we were there we noticed a sign in the window. “Saturday 5-8 live music and all you can eat catfish”! So we decided to do dinner there as well. It was decently priced with the all you can eat being $18.99. The service was a little slow but then again it was PACKED and there was only one waitress. I kind of wish the live music had been in the pavilion across the street for more room but I can see how that’d be a service nightmare too. Definitely need to check it out if you’re wanting a nice country meal!!!!

Found this GEM by accident. Went to a high school football game Saturday in Forestburg. My husband and I had not had lunch, so I looked on Yelp and found this local place (we did not want to head back to 35). Reviews looked good, so we thought we would try it out. We are so glad we did. LOVED this place. We got there at 3:30. Normally the kitchen is turning over then to prepare for their catfish dinner, but they cooked up some yummy hamburgers (or cheeseburgers) and fries (tator tots for my husband). We also enjoyed Lemon, Coconut and Buttermilk pie. Thank you for good, flavorful food in an GREAT small town. Keep up the good work.
