Reviews
The staff was very friendly and on top of things. Our waitress was warm and welcoming with just enough attentiveness without being overly intrusive. She was also accommodating to my beverage choice dilemma. Thank you!
The food was all delicious. We split the Ruben with onion rings ($3 up charge). The Ruben might be one of the best we remember. The flavor was great, it was not greasy or soggy from too much toppings. The onion rings were also very crispy without being burnt. The coating was thin and fully covered the onion.
We also shared the Ruben egg rolls and they were delicious as well. The only thing is they were two egg rolls cut into 6 pieces, which seemed a bit pricey. If you want a Ruben, you might just want to do the sandwich.
The beverages were reasonably priced with a good variety to choose from.
The inside was clean and they have plenty of seating. They have some unique seating arrangements and a small game area. They also appear to have an outdoor area, which was only used for the patrons who smoked as it was too cold to sit outside.
We are definitely going to be going back. I would recommend this place to anyone.
1st stop at Green Spot:
Chili and beer for a try.
Chili GREAT, beer as expected, service as expected, prices reasonable. Worth another try.
2nd stop:
Chili and beer while waiting for fish and chips to go.
As before with Chili and beer, service soso, alot of chatting among staff. Fish VERY OILY, coleslaw good, fries good. No more fish.
3rd visit:
Went in specifically for the great Chili but beef and bean soup was the soup of the day, so I tried.
Not as good as the Chili. But very good. Ordered Chicken Strips to go. Got home and was very disappointing with a order of fish and chips. I guess service was soso. As before, practically dripping in oil. Called, talked to Ava, very pleasant, told her that someone will be calling to say that they got Chicken Strips instead of fish, because I got there fish. Ava pleasantly said to come back in when I have a chance and get my Chicken strips.
Visit 4:
Came back for my Chicken Strips. Once again, my favorite Chili and beer, and as before, very good. Finished my Chili and beer while seeing a to-go order in the window. Servers to busy getting caught up with personal life to notice. Must have been 10 minutes before caught attention of bartender, then another 5 minutes waiting for checkout.
Anyways, Chicken Strips very good. Can’t understand why fish is so oily and fries and Chicken Strips aren’t.
I then check reviews and see few about oily fish. Most reviews about service is good with the exception of a few complaints about vulgarity among the servers. Didn’t experience any of that, but what caught my attention was a response from the owner regarding that: if your ears are sensitive, bring ear plugs.
I’m sorry if I misunderstood that response, but I thought that response was insensitive.
Since my taste is sensitive to the fish, maybe I’ll bring my own fish.
Overall:
Food, for what I’ve had, 5 stars aside from the fish
Service, thinking I might be to sensitive, I’ll go with 4 stars.
Prices, 5 stars, very reasonable.
Atmosphere, that’s not much a concern for me, but read no complaints, so 5 stars.
Will be back for the great Chili, and to try something different.
My wife and I stopped in for dinner, we both had dinner special, a strip steak for 5.99.
It also came with your choice of baked potato or fries. Also added a side salad for 2.99 and a side of sauteed mushrooms for $1.
All of the food was really good, the staff was very friendly and the service was great.
We will be stopping by again.
