I had my heart set on a deep dish pizza, but they were out. I got a pretty decent Italian grinder. Service was good, except for one bartender who obviously did not want to be there. Maybe I’ll be back for that deep dish some day.

Got seated right after we arrived. Our bread was brought to us pretty quickly. It was tasty. Enjoyed the delicious chicken asparagus stir fry also. Good place with variety of flavors.

I have dined at The Green Mill Restaurant & Bar several times when visiting New Ulm. The restaurant is adjacent to the Best Western Plus hotel, so no need to leave the property for dinner and drinks. Everything I have tried has been very good. My colleagues and I all like their pizza & wings, but my favorite is probably the pan seared walleye. I will definitely return the next time I’m in town.

Disappointing overall. Food and staff wasn’t good. Fries soggy. Burger bun was wet from the grease . Cheese wasn’t even melted and the bacon they use is as bad as fast food bacon. Burger looked as if was slung together. The place had only a few people so there was no need to hurry. I could here constant yelling, bickering and swearing from the waitresses and kitchen staff. Only plus was my waiter was nice and the beer was good

Always great food and fantastic staff. By the way Ted Langs Wife was fired from Green Mill five years ago so his review is probably not accurate! He has a history of bias reviews and should not be considered a good source on Google.

Two stars because we eventually got our food. Service is horribly lacking.

We arrived at 7pm on a Thursday and were seated right away. There were other guests at four tables – they were not busy at all. We waited 15 minutes and no one came to take our drink order. A gentleman that was seated 10 minutes after we arrived already had his drinks and his order taken. Had to go ask the group of four employee at the front register if someone would be coming to wait on us as it had been 15 minutes. No apologies for the lack of service or oversight, just a “I’ll see if I can get someone over there”. Waited a few minutes and someone did finally come and take our order, which was wings and a deep dish pizza. We’d ordered that before so we keep it took 30-35 minutes, and it’s generally less. The gentleman who had been seated after us also order a deep dish pizza and had been told it would be 30-35 minutes. He got his pizza before we even got our wings.

I did get one unsolicited refill, so kudos to the waitress for at least recognizing that.

Saw staff gathered together several times and seemed more interested in talking to each other than waiting on customers.

50 minutes after our order was taken (now about and hour and fifteen minutes after we were seated) the waitress was going to walk by without saying anything, so I flagged her down and asked about our food. The response was. “Well, deep dish pizza takes 30-35 minutes”. Not “sorry about that I’ll check on your food, not sure what’s taking so long” or any kind of apology for the delay. Waitress seemed extremely inconveienced by the fact we had the gall to ask about our food. Came back a few minutes later and more or less slammed a refill (with no ice) on the table. So again, kudos for recognizing an empty glass, I guess.

Brought the pizza out a few minutes later. It was not hot and clearly had been sitting for a while, but it was warm. Asked if we needed anything else, and I asked for a box and the check and she quickly turned away without saying a word. Brought the box and check about 5 minutes later, we paid, tipped a very undeserved tip, and left.

Not once did anyone apologize – or even recognize – that the service was sub standard. So that tells me that this is the norm for this location. I never expect any offer of a discount for poor service, but places often do that. Not here.

The previous time we visited we also waited after being sat while our waiter carried on a conversation with people he obviously knew at the booth next to us. For 10 minutes.

The staff here seems more interested in conversing amongst themselves and friends than hospitality for customers.

Food was decent. Again, warm but not hot, but tasted fine. The service ruined the meal completely, and I’m not certain we will make the trip to this location again.

We paid 13.99 for Grilled Chcken Cesar salad. That came with 4 strips of chicken. I have been a line cook for many years. When you put a chicken breast and advertise your CHICKEN Cesar salad with a grilled chicken it should be the whole breast! So what happened to the other pieces? Also, 1 Tomato when we normally order this we get 2 or 3 and it’s suppose to come with homemade croutons. Which it came with none!!!! The lady on phone said they portion it out? Maybe you should specify that on your menu!! The lady on the phone said you can come back and we can give you 4 dollars off if we come back. We are a 45 min away and it was 10min till they closed. We told her we would bring back the whole salad and get our full refund back and would like a full refund back on just the salad from our order. If she knew real customer service she would have made this right And said come back and we will make you a new one or tomorrow. Well apparently they were out of homemade Croutons and the other part of the chicken took off some where else. We never ate or touched the salad. WOW the best I can do is write this review and hope knowone experiences this ever at this place. We never complain or right reviews but wow I could tell she was smiling through the phone the way she was talking and didn’t care about customer service at all!! We have been to many Green Mill restaurants and this by far the worst!!!! You do not get what you actually pay for!!!!!!!

Never have I left a restaurant before ordering— until tonight. Took 10+ minutes before our server even came to our table after we were seated, and and at least 10 min more
before she returned to take our order. When i attempted to mozzarella sticks, server said they were out… again.

First, how can a restaurant, famed for its pizza, habitually be out of mozzarella sticks by 6pm on a Friday? (Third time we’ve tried with no avail). (Poor management and planning). Then , she mentioned a simple pizza was gonna take 45 minutes— and the house wasn’t that busy. Servers were frantic and the place just seemed chaotic.

As much as I love their pizza — I truly think it’s fantastic — the third time was the charm with poor service, lack of menu items, and unpreparedness. Only take out from here on.

(The staff at Green Mill should visit Plaza Garibaldi to see how it’s done right!)
