Once I got to my aunts house and set up our lunches, I found out that the Pho was cold. I’m not too sure if that was due to me getting takeout or if they had not heated anything up that day. They didn’t tell me anything ahead of time so I think that’s a little odd to me. You would serve someone cold soup, even though they want to takeout at least without telling them first. Hee
Nevertheless, the mango salad, stirfry dish, and Pho all tasted delicious once everything was heated up to the right temperature! We loved our food and I am happy. This location is still around!!
I recommend their crispy chicken dish or trying their specialty plates, since some of the other “classics” like pho and vermicelli bowls sadly aren’t as good as other restaurants in the area.
Ordered Thai fried rice, egg plant with basil, and mango salad, pot of hot tea for a table of four.
Everything was delicious!
Total came out to be $58 including tips.
I would absolutely come back again!!! Probably tomorrow hahahah!
The only downside is the service. While the staff isn’t rude, the service can be slow or a bit inattentive at times, which takes away from the overall experience.
Still, the food itself is fantastic, and the atmosphere is nice. If you don’t mind waiting a little longer, it’s definitely worth trying for the quality of the dishes alone.
Vegetarian Pho: The vegetarian pho was truly out of this world. The broth was incredibly mild yet refreshingly flavorful, making it a standout dish. The generous amount of vegetables added to the dish not only enhanced the taste but also gave it a wholesome feel.
Vegetarian Fresh Spring Roll: These were delightfully refreshing and paired perfectly with the peanut sauce, which was rich and flavorful. Each bite felt light yet satisfying, making it an ideal appetizer.
Service: Unfortunately, the service fell a bit short. Communication was somewhat challenging, possibly due to language barriers, which made the experience less seamless than it could have been.
Ambience: The ambience was pleasant, offering a cozy and inviting atmosphere that complemented the dining experience well.
In summary, Green Lotus delivers exceptional vegetarian Vietnamese dishes but could improve on service for a more well-rounded experience.
– parking: quite small area. If you are here on wkd or special religious events, you have to find other place nearby to park.
– dining area is okay, decor is simple. You have to get in line and wait to call to the dining table. It’s fast on weekdays!
– menu has a lot of dishes in English and Vietnamese with clear prices. To have a better menu, it should have illustrated photo for every dish.
– the food is really good. We had ordered “bun mam” and “ bun cha gio”. The taste is super! We like it!
Will come back and recommended to everyone, especially to vegetarians!
Take your time and go early or don’t go hungry because this place is famous for good reasons, and unfortunately, for us, it is a small restaurant, so most likely you will expect 25 min to be seating, but the wait is worth it.
Last Saturday, I enjoyed:
– Green Lotus Rolls Sample (spring roll, BBQ pork roll, tofu and veggie roll, jicama roll, egg roll, and house egg roll served with three different dipping sauces).
– Caramelized Roasted Pork in Clay Pot.
– Cane juice
Every single roll was tasty, and the dipping sauces elevated the flavors. The caramelized “Roasted Pork” chef kisses.
I’m still thinking about the flavors!
