Great food, regardless of the location I go to! Each with their own distinct atmosphere. Looking for a calm spot with a jukebox? Go to the West Carmel location. Need to get a shopping spree in? Go to the arts district. Want a sports bar feel? Sheridan is your new pub of preference.
As for my food… I ordered a Deluxe pasta with green peppers and a drink
Bread sticks were great! Nice and doughy, but not in an under baked way.
THE PASTA!!!
I had attempted to get a lunch combo for 10 dollars but the deluxe is the only pasta not featured for the special. That was an oversight on my end but the fact that I had paid 17.41 for a drink, 2 bread sticks, and pasta with a singular added topping (to which I had not received) is quite the difference.
The noodles themselves absorbed the sauce well and were very tasty.
The chicken and sausage were succulent and tender.
HOWEVER COMMA… NGP!!! NO GREEN PEPPERS!
Usually I don’t go too crazy over missing additives, but they’re not free either. I work on the road a lot due to pest control and try to get a real meal on occasion if I have the time.
The biggest disappointment was the Green pepper, was really looking forward to them
When I called in to report the discrepancy, they did try to offer a complimentary item, but I don’t wish to tarnish my reviews with free items.
The service today however? We ordered and our estimated pick up time was 5:35. We arrived to pick it up at the same time a family came in to dine in…along with another family a few minutes later. Both families recieved their food, while we continued waiting for 45 minutes. The excuse for us not getting our food was “we take priority of those sitting down.”
On our way out, we noticed we had the same order as one of the families, one plain cheese and one pepperoni.
We LOVED their breadsticks! We got the herb & parmesan and they were probably the best breadsticks we’ve ever had! I believe a key reason is the added butter but the bread itself was so light and fluffy. We got a pizza to split and were not disappointed. My wife isn’t a huge fan of pizza sauce, and when she does she prefers a light amount. Their crust and pizza were so good! The sauce tasted fresh, unlike many chains that are thick, heavy and overly sweet, this one tasted light and tomato-sweet like it should taste and it wasn’t so thick that it smothered the dough, it was just enough to get that great flavor. It was prepared really fast as well. Oh, and we like the cross promotion of the brewery across the street; we thought that was very classy to support another local business.
The staff was super friendly and helped us through the menu as we were newbies. The guy who was in the kitchen (might be the owner?) did make a jab about my beloved Red Sox but I’ll let it slide as his product was amazing. :p We live on the other side of town but we will DEFINITELY be making trips back here.
It’s gratifying to know that he/they cared enough to follow-up with me to discuss my experience. I feel much better about the situation, and Greek’s Pizzeria, and I promised him we will continue to order from them because we DO enjoy their pizza, breadsticks, salad, etc…. I revised my ratings to reflect the follow-up call so they’re now a blend of how I felt before and after the GM reached out.
Initial comments: Just picked up my order which was wrong again. I ordered a cheese pizza with barbecue sauce instead of tomato sauce (I clearly stated barbecue sauce in place of tomato sauce). Instead, we got both barbecue sauce and tomato sauce, which messes up the pizza for 3 members of our family, who prefer the barbecue sauce only taste.
Worse yet, when I called to complain, the same kid who took my order mouthed off to me. Instead of saying “We’re sorry we got your order wrong” he told me to talk to him in a nicer tone and “I’m not the one who made your pizza”. If that kid worked for me, he’d be fired this evening!
We have been a good customer over the years but this is the second or third time they’ve messed up this simple request. And, I won’t accept lip when I should receive an apology!
Too many good pizza places to mess with this place again.
