Hands down the best icecream i have ever had. They do a great job balancing unique flavors with more traditional ones. Their selection is always homemade and always changing so you can get seasonal flavors! I take everyone here!! My personal favorite is the soo lock swirl, but their apple cider and pumpkin pie and snickerdoodle are all good! Also they have great holiday sales! Keep and eye out for a slice of cake!!!

I am a HUGE fan of ice cream, especially high end, small batch (Greaters, Van Leeuwen, even Ben and Jerrys and Haagen) Not to mention the quintessential Calder Farms Dairy in Carleton. Hate to be rude…but to be completely honest…this ice cream doesn’t have the butter fat content, is too sweet and generic tasting. It’s not bad, its not great.
I gave 10 to 12 different flavors here a whirl over the past month with Mint Chocolate chip my benchmark with ANY brand…I gave thier sample an honest assessment. Overall, their mint chip is a 6/10. Greaters mint and Calders mint an easy 9.5.
Then the price paid for what you get. Its like welll…I will leave it at that.
If I have a choice between dragging my butt out and getting ice cream, I will grab a pint from the grocery store. Sorry…the taste of Greaters or Haagen at $6 a pint is better. Even Calders Dairy, you get easily 30% more and the taste is marginally better (clean/sharp mint taste) The flavor and butterfat content is cleaner on the pallet and neither are overly basked in overbearing sweetness.

Good ice cream place, seating and parking available. Moderately priced, friendly staff, good flavor options , would recommend this place if you are looking for good ice cream. Tried picture rock flavor, coconut and vanilla, they were all good.

Creamy ice cream! The staff were friendly and efficient and the shop very clean! Quaint shop with shade trees surrounding a covered porch with tables. Spacious indoor seating. The ice cream was delicious, one of the creamiest ice creams we have ever had! Lots of flavors to choose from! Highly recommend! It’s worth a trip to Midland just to have this ice cream!!

After having a cup of GLIC Strawberry ice cream from Sweet Treats Ice Cream Truck in Lansing, I had to drive up to the store to get more. The ice cream is amazing and the customer service is great. So many flavors, but I stuck with Strawberry and Vanilla both were the best I have ever had! You can sample ones you might think you would like to make sure you get the right one. They also have ice cream cakes.
Highly recommend this place and can not wait to come back!

A triple in a cup – Pictured Rocks (their best selling i/c), Caramel Cheesecake (a LOT of caramel), and Coffee Caramel Crunch (a LOT of caramel). Generous with scoops. Good prices. Nice staff. Glad we looked it up!

There are some unique flavors people of any age will appreciate. Go on an ice cream tour of Michigan with flavors named pictured rocks, Soo Lock Swirl or Great Lakes Rainbow. I was told the best seller is pictured rocks. There are also ice cream flavors that kids think are so fun, like dog puke, a green based ice cream with chunks in it. The ambiance is great with the home feel, and on a warm Michigan Summer night what can be better than eating great lakes ice cream on this festive porch with friends.
