These GRINDERS would aggressively sand and grind rusty hulls of war ships and cargo freighters to a first-class American finish. Each day at lunch they could be found eating a unique sandwich. Something good enough to have every day. The only sandwich that was hearty enough to keep up with their signature work ethic. When planning a small birthday celebration for our daughter the first thought of food that crossed our mind was Great Lakes Grinders. We contacted them and easily selected a tray of our favorite grinders along with our favorite pasta salad and potato salad. The day we picked everything up was a breeze! The excitement to be able to eat a tray of grinders and sides in February was over the top! Every bite was amazing! Out of town friends experienced their first taste of Great Lakes Grinders and shared their appreciation for the deliciousness! There’s nothing quite as satisfying as a grinder!

What a gem find! Great Lakes grinders is a gem in Sandusky! Located in downtown Sandusky right on the water. Couldn’t get any better than that! Service was quick and efficient. Food was walked out to us at our table. Sandwich was amazing! Bread is shipped in from New Jersey. And boy does that make a difference! Great texture and really makes the sandwich. Meat and veggies were very fresh and on point. Overall a very well put together sandwich.

This is our 3rd year going to Great Lakes Grinders. I love the Italian with extra sauce & hubby likes the Mackinac Meatball. These sandwiches are the best in Sandusky!! The owner is nice a d the employees greet you with a smile.
I stalk FB in the Spring to see when they will open for the season. For Mother’s day I wanted GLG.
The view of the lake is amazing. The park is so nice and we walk the path while we wait. You honestly can’t go wrong with any of their sandwiches.

First time trying Great Lakes Grinders and I will absolutely be back! I got the roast beef and it was delish- all ingredients fresh and the bread… chefs kiss! The staff are very friendly and they all seem to work well together and have fun doing so! Thanks to the cook that took a minute to come out and chat and get my feedback – that’s how you run a great business! Great job to all!

Absolutely amazing sandwiches! We had the West Coast Turkey with avocado, alfalfa sprouts, jalapeños and mayo and the Mackinac Meatball with marinara, provolone, crushed red pepper. Grab your sandwiches then go find a seat near the lake…PERFECT!

Picked up some lunch on a windy day … wife had turkey avocado I had the Sicilian. Sandwiches were excellent with a wonderful hoagy roll. Service was great, staff was respectful and nice. Clean facility with outdoor seating at local park.

I’ve had a few people tell me I needed to get over and try this place out. I finally made it today and I was not disappointed one bit. Grabbed 2 subs to go and went and had lunch with my wife. She had the Turkey and Avocado and I had the Spicy Sicilian. Everything was fresh and the bread is legit. Give em a try!

We got lunch from Grinders today. My wife got the turkey club and I got the Italian. It was absolutely unbelievable! The bread was fresh, the meat and all the veggies on top were perfect. I especially like the bread. We’re never disappointed. I can’t wait to go back. Hands down the freshest and best grinders ANYWHERE!!!!

Trip to Cedar Point with granddaughter and had this place on my “must-try” list. Cool setting being in park and the beautiful view. I had the turkey avocado based on all the reviews and did not disappoint. Fresh bread and great portion of turkey and avocado. Staff was very friendly and would highly recommend!
