My wife and I don’t often go out to eat because we are pretty frugal and she is an excellent chef anyway. We’re often disappointed by dishes or prices or both. However the food at Great Blue Heron Grill was absolutely delicious, the staff was just the right level of attentive, and the atmosphere was just what we were looking for on our night out. And the prices were quite reasonable!

I highly recommend this restaurant especially during the winter months here in the Pacific Northwest. With their theme dinners and comedy nights it’s definitely a go-to for Friday and Saturday nights.
The prime rib was wonderful and thoroughly enjoyed. As well as the Julia Child’s famous beef bourguignon. Great for this time of year.

Our group of 28 had a wonderful time at Great Blue Heron Grill. The food was delicious, served promptly despite our size. Our waiter was exceptionally patient and accommodating. Plus, the views of the pond added to the overall experience. Highly recommend for any occasion!

While the menu stats boldly that they will accommodate vegetarians and vegans, the reality is not so bright.
After a back and forth with the server and kitchen, they came up with a house salad as some tofu.
When I asked for a side of bread to go with it, the confusion and delay resulted in no bread for me.
It was a small salad, although we asked for the large, and overall on par with a house salad one would get at a Denny’s.
Server was friendly.
The non vegan said their meals were good.

Service very slow, even on not a busy night. Food was delicious but a bit overpriced – it’s a golf course though, so that was expected, and there’s not much else in the area. My mom and I were staying at Semiahmoo and their onsite nice restaurant is closed in the fall/winter so decided to go here.

Want overpriced food? Visually appealing food but lacks flavor? Ie overcooked salmon, steak with little to no flavor and just plain blant veggies. Confused waitress? This is your spot! We recently discovered this place and had to come back twice. It offers excellent options. I had the Lamb Fries one day and the Lunch Trio the second time. Both were great. The staff is friendly and never had to wait for a table. Definitely make a reservation for dinner but for lunch you can just walk in.

Had high hopes for this place, location is really pretty and so are the views from inside looking out to the pond with geese and a fountain. Sadly, service was lacking. Upon my arrival, the place was pretty much empty with only two tables taken. I was immediately asked if I had a reservation,, which I did. They told me to sit anywhere. Despite being the only third table in use, it still took about 15 minutes for them to take my drink order. I ordered the flank steak, it was a pretty small plate, with a very small order of very thin / watery mashed potatoes, and a small side of broccolini. Taste wise it was about average, maybe maybe 3 and 1/2 Stars, but my potatoes and vegetables were cold. The server came back after about 20 minutes to ask how everything was, and I was basically about done. And let her know that it was okay, despite that the vegetables were all cold, and she apologized and walked away. All in all, $50 for a very small steak, cold vegetables and watery potatoes, and one glass of wine, on top of slow and lacking service, definitely would not compel me to ever return. Views outside or a 5/5 inside is a 3, food is a 3, and service is a 2. I’d average it out to about 2.5 experience. Onward to better things. Onward to better things.
