Great American Buffet is honestly a great deal for the price. The affordability is one of the biggest wins here. You get a solid variety of food without paying fancy restaurant prices, and for a buffet, that’s exactly what you want.
The customer service has always been lovely and prompt every time I’ve gone. Staff are friendly, attentive, and quick to clear plates or help if you need anything, which makes the whole experience feel welcoming instead of rushed or chaotic.
The food quality is surprisingly good for the price point. My personal favorites are the grilled chicken with honey mustard sauce and the ribs..both are consistently tasty and worth coming back for.
I’ll also say this, if you’re expecting fine dining or a luxury experience, this probably isn’t the place for you. But for an affordable buffet with good food and great service, this spot delivers. I would definitely recommend if you’re looking for a casual, budget-friendly spot with solid food options.

Walked in at 7:40 on a Friday night with no knowledge they closed at 8. Was greeted & sat with no word of closing soon. Waitress got us our drinks. And we went to make plates. Then the manager came out at 8:00 and starting taking all the utensils from everything. I asked were we not allowed to get anything else and she said yes and got the tongs back out. But yet the containers were empty. Asked for a spoon for salad dressing and she gives me one with holes. Waitress asks if I need anything since she had never came back while she was standing at the buffet filling her own to go container. Which it seemed all employees did so at 8:00. Mind you we were not the last to come in nor were we the last to leave. I spoke to the manager and told her $50 for 2 adults to not be able to eat, get fresh food put out, or even certain food items refilled was a bit ridiculous and her reply was “the hours sign is on the door”. Now how many people check the hours sign going into the restaurant. They should have informed us before seating & given us the option if we still wanted to eat in the 20 minute rush they gave us. Besides the fact I had a toddlers with me to feed. So once I fed her I didn’t each much. She did give me a $5 discount & thought she was doing something. No rolls. Scraps in the salad bowl. No cheese. No egg. She took the tongs for all the salads. Fruits. And the desserts. They weren’t even sitting properly in the buffet. They had already been pulled from the metal racks holding them up. All you can eat buffet went to all they wanted you to eat. Such a shame!

My experience horrible. I should’ve known when I walked into a buffet and it didn’t smell like food. The first three plates I grabbed were dirty. Found a clean one. Even tho all the heating tables were full of food and had steam coming from them, all of the food was cold. They brought out fresh plates that were still wet, cold, and had food on all of them. I watched one of the ladies from the kitchen bring out buffalo wings from the back and I went to grab one it was ice cold. She also proceeded to clean around the food recklessly. It was disturbing and disgusting. Please just go 10 mins up the road to Golden Corral!

I have been here on several occasions with up to 8 people at one time. We had a party of 4 on this afternoon. Plenty of seating. The waitress was very respectful and polite. She was informative and prompt when we requested extra napkins due to my fingers being messy from eating the hot wings which were very good. The carpet was very worn and the restaurant needs some updating. All in all I enjoy eating here.

When we got there today I was really looking to eating steak and their desserts but I was very disappointed. The steak look like it has been there for a long time and it looked so dry. The dessert was the same as well, stale and not fresh at all. When my daughters went to grab ice cream they found a roach roaming around. We were completely grossed out and don’t plan to ever come back.
The only thing I can’t complain was our waitress and another one that came to talk to us so that the manager can give us a discount.

This place needs a deep cleaning and lower covering over food bar, children should be accommodated by an adult.
Signs in place masks available, gloves hand sanitizer or signs wash hands before getting food off bar. All good places need to put safety first when serving or selling food. God bless us all to live better

For us this place is now classified as the trough. If you want to just put your head in and devour unlimited amounts of nasty, this is the spot. My wife and I haven’t been in here for many years and after looking at the recent reviews we gave it a try. Over 55 discount prior to 4 PM.
A lot of the hot foods were cold even though they were on the steamer line. How do you do that? The fish was extra salty. Cold slaw was inedible and tasted like it was spoiled. The small roma tomatoes were very red but hard as a marble. The fried chicken thigh I got was not cooked completely and showed actual blood vessels near the bone. It’s easier to list the apple pie, baked beans, and sweet potato mush as the items that were good. Scratch this one off.
*Note this review was completed without using ridiculous undiscriptive terms like out-of-bounds, OMG, on point, awesome, the bomb, yummy, delish, to die for, do yourself a favor, trust me, etc.. Describe the food, service (or lack of) and provide details on the cost/copy of the check and include pictures! Is the place clean? No disrespect to the employees but no one cares about the waiter/waitress names, or if they look like they fell face first into a tackle box. They get changed like underwear and you don’t get to pick one. No we don’t care about your allergies or the need for gluten free food.

Worst buffet I’ve ever had food was terrible had food sitting for so long they should be embarrassed to serve that to people .no one should have to eat this mess! On top of that the waitress never came by to pick up plates or refill the drinks.

I visit their Manassas location about once a month. However, I was in the Fredericksburg area so decided to stop in. Boy, I regret that I did.
I got sitted at 1040am on Sunday, and most of the breakfast items were empty. Whatever was left, was not even hot. I took my time eating whatever breakfast food I could grab, in hopes that at 11am I would start to see them filling up the empty slots with the lunch items. It’s obvious these guys stop bringing breakfast items out at like 10am, they don’t cook after that it seems. You get whatever is left. I felt like I was eating leftovers. There were no eggs, one french toast slice, etc. It was terrible!
They were VERY slow in bringing out the lunch items, and not all the food was hot. Most food items were warm or cold. The food also didn’t have much taste.
The management staff needs to learn from the Manassas location.
As Manassas constantly has all food slots filled and full. The breakfast buffet is always filled even up till 11am when they switch over to lunch. The Manassas location brings lunch out on time, the food is hot, the service is faster and friendly. I definitely will not go to the Fredericksburg location again.

I am very upset today. My hubby and I had lunch here and I was enjoying the soup on a cold day … until I came up with a piece of metal as wide as my pinky nail, in my mouth from the soup.
The manager apologized and said it was from food packaging. Folks, I would have ended up in the ER if I had swallowed that!
