It took a minute to write this review as we had visited this gem of a place back in June. We were visiting GR for some work and decided to stop by for a quick bite at GRC based on the reviews. The food definitely didn’t disappoint. These were hands down the best Philly cheese steaks we had ever tried. The beef steak is truly next level. It’s thinly sliced unlike other cheesesteaks. The bread is freshly baked in house and is delicious. The cheese steaks come with fries and the portion size is quite generous which justifies the price. They also have a buffet as well as a dessert selection. We cannot wait to come back to this place and try the other items in the menu. There was no indoor seating last time we visited but that might have changed by now. Huge shoutout to the owner who made sure to take care of us. Also, yes this place is 100% Halal as the name suggests!. This place is must try for cheesesteak lovers!

Great flavor, great taste, great options. I got a philly and by the time I got home, it was still hot and the fries were still crispy & crunchy, I’m excited to try more on the menu in the future with my family. Appreciate yall!

We came out of state and let the person know it was our first time here. He told us the business was open about 5 months. We got the gyros and cheesesteak and they were amazing! He was super generous and kind and made us feel like we belonged there. Wanted to thank him if he sees this and hope you continue with your amazing business!

Chicken shawarma with rice tastes really good and feels authentic. I didn’t enjoy the lamb/beef shawarma as much.
The falafel is okay, and the portions are big and filling. The Tabouleh salad is not really a Tabouleh!
I just wish they had a place to sit and eat, since the prices feel more like a restaurant, but they’re only catering.
Overall, it was a good Middle Eastern food experience.

This place is great. The food is amazing and very authentic. (Finally, a real Mediterranean restaurant).
The owner is very hospitable and generous. And I can’t say it enough, the food tastes really good and the portions are more than enough.

My wife and I have tried most of the Mediterranean/Middle Eastern restaurants in Grand Rapids, but this one blew me away. The tawook chicken sandwich is a must-try, and the portions are big. The owner was also really nice and gave us some samples of the baked goods to try while we waited for our order. We will definitely be going back regularly!

I got to meet AJ and Jackie with a fantastic experience! On July 4, 2025, I’m working and headed to my next event for the evening. I needed some food, googled shawarma and found GRC Halal! I arrived to see a sign on the door and lights off. As I was looking for another option, AJ comes out and introduces himself and asked how he could help. I told him I was just looking for shawarma for lunch and since they were already closed I’d find something else and they should go enjoy the holiday. He said hold on one minute. AJ and his daughter brought me shawarma, cheese steak, and pastries!!! And WOW! This is AMAZING FOOD! This is the BEST TASTING food I’ve had on the west side of Michigan and clearly made with love!!! It was great to meet AJ and Jackie, such good people! I can’t wait to go back with my wife and enjoy the restaurant.
Thank you for feeding the Kona Guy and getting me through the rest of a long day! My wife enjoyed it later also.

I saw the good reviews and decided to try some authentic Mediterranean food.. I was absolutely impressed! The employees were both so kind and generous and helpful (as I did not know what I wanted) and the cook said he loved the beef shawarma so I gave it a whirl and was quite pleased. LOADS of meat. So quality and seasoned and cooked to perfection. The naan was delicious, particularly with the garlic sauce! Yum! And apparently they have lamb pizzas?! This place is a little gem. It isn’t cheap fast food, it’s quality food from people who you can tell care about what they’re making. Give it a go, if you’re in a rush call ahead. 8)

Stopped in for lunch and grabbed the hummus platter with chicken shawarma! It was absolutely phenomenal and perfectly seasoned! Made fresh to order! The portion was absolutely huge as well, so I kind of had it for lunch and dinner!

I was looking for a good cheesesteak for lunch. After reading reviews I tried this place unfortunately the steak meat was chewy and fatty was just disappointed. The service was good as well as the seasoned fries.
