OMGOSH, it has been a very long time since I have eaten at Grandys. Its not like the original Grandys in the late 80’s and the 90’s.. Oh, how I miss the Grandma, who brought out the fresh rolls. I had the chicken tenders, mashed potatoes and fried okra. Everything was cooked perfectly, not over done or greasy. The chicken tenders were juicy, not dry. Mashed potatoes did not taste home-cooked, but still good. The restaurant was clean. There was an older gentleman working there. We were able to talk to him for a few minutes, he was very sweet. My biggest disappointment, was no fried chicken livers. Grandys used to have the best!!

Been coming here for 35yrs, food used to be excellent. Suddenly took a turn for the worst. Very, very disappointed, my food looked like it been sitting out for days, I’ll let the pictures speak for themselves. Will never be coming back here ever, and this new employee the African American older guy, man this guy needs an attitude adjustment for real. Save your money and go else where.

The first time I experienced Grandy’s was in 1983 in Tulsa, Oklahoma when I was visiting for the first time. I ended up moving there for over a decade and Grandy’s was a local treasure in Tulsa when it came to Chicken.

They still serve breakfast! You always went for the fresh homemade cinnamon rolls that were so amazing. And the homemade cobblers—-OMG!

They might have been the first chain to start chicken tenders/nuggets and they never disappointed. Fried golden brown and crispy, just like grandma made them back in the day. Sides: let’s talk about sides! The fresh veggie choices, including the crispy fried okra, corn, slaw, green beans, whipped potatoes, and baked beans were always so amazing. Ask yourself this, why don’t other chicken chains offer baked beans with your meal? It’s so delicious and a nice change.

So I saw this Grandy’s and had to go inside, because there are only a couple left and this is a time capsule. The staff were old fashion friendly and most had worked there for decades. The place was so clean and the food was served fresh and steaming hot. I was so excited to relive this experience. You should give it a try if you happen upon one.

This location easy to access right off the freeway.
The food and customer service was good as well, I’ll recommend this place for people looking to have more then just a sandwich for lunch. They have mashed potatoes, macaroni and cheese, green beans. Southern cooking on the go!!

I hadn’t eaten at a Grandy’s in years and years! Just realized we have one in our neighborhood and I dragged us out to check it out. We ate there on a Tuesday evening around 8…so after the evening rush. It was very quiet, in fact, we were the only customers there. But, we were greeted in a friendly manner and treated with graciousness. We ordered a 3 piece chicken dinner and a country fried streak dinner. We waited a few minutes longer than I expected- but when we checked on our food, we realized they were cooking our food fresh for us. Which brings me to the food. Don’t get me wrong, this is a fast food place- with all that you would expect- basic dining room, no table service, etc. However, we really enjoyed the dinner rolls and I really liked the corn. (I know, that seems strange- but it was good.) We enjoyed the fried chicken- fresh, crunchy crust, nice flavor. I was less enthralled with the chicken fried steak- the crust was yummy, flavors nice, but it was more like a hamburger on the inside. Our meals were $8-$10 each. We will definitely go back!

I live in West Texas where we sadly no longer have a Grandy’s and haven’t for a few decades. I discovered this Grandy’s (Plano, TX) back in 2020! This Grandy’s is the real deal! The chicken nuggets are crispy and fresh. The mashed potatoes are the perfect and hold their delicious famous brown gravy. I’ve been back multiple times when I travel in this area and have never been disappointed! Do yourself a favor and stop by!

Well, it’s official! I just ate at Grandys for the last time! The food was trash, the employees act like they are at a soup kitchen, and the inside reflects it! This morning it was 44 degrees outside and this is the temperature inside,.. 58 degrees! Ridiculous! Where is the health department? Tear this place down already!!! At least let our good memories remain and not be replaced with whatever this is!

Great experience. Clean. Food was excellent. People were fast and friendly. The only problem was there was no lock on the men’s bathroom stall. I still would recommend this place to anyone

Chicken Fried Steak was a packed frozen, then fried and served. Sides were OK. Cobbler was the worst I have had. Mostly all bread and very little fruit. Tough and taseless. I was very disappointed. It is nothing like the Grandy’s of old. They did not even have real butter. It’s just some fake oil spread that looks like butter.
