Traveling through Detroit and was looking up best deep dish joints. Seen reviews and was easily accessible for me off the highway. Free parking all over the place near it. My waiter was very friendly and answered all my questions. Went with the sausage & pistachio xl so I could take more home. It was phenomenal! All the different flavors meshed well and it was the rosemary that really set it off. The dough though was the best part. Crunchy, thick yet very light and airy! Grabbed up the pickle pie and a strawberry shake for the road back to western Pa. Only 15 degrees out so they went into the truck bed with a cap. Strawberry shake sucked as it was more icy than creamy and sugary but no biggie. I care more about the pizza:) The pickle pie was incredible as it is more gourmet like in its ingredients. Pretty strong flavors in it but my kids even loved it.

Grandma Bob’s is such a great fit for Detroit, especially Corktown. The space has a cool industrial auto garage vibe that feels authentic without trying too hard. We came early and it filled up fast. By the time we left there were easily 15 or more people waiting for a table, but at no point did we feel rushed.

The waitstaff were friendly, attentive, and genuinely helpful with recommendations. The drinks were unusual in a good way. Not necessarily the best cocktails I’ve ever had, but very good, and I can honestly say I’ve never had anything that tasted quite like the Sugar Plum drink. It was memorable and fun to try something totally different.

The pizza was near perfect. I personally like my Detroit style pizza with just a little more buttery grease on the edges, but that is truly nitpicking. The crust, cheese, and overall balance were excellent and incredibly satisfying.

There isn’t much seating, so arriving early helps, but the atmosphere, service, and food make it well worth it. I would absolutely come back and recommend it to anyone looking for great pizza and a uniquely Detroit experience.

A Google search for gluten-free vegan cheese pizza turned this spot up, so I called, confirmed, and stopped in to try it out.

Parked in the back, and was a little confused about whether I needed to pay or not pay. The staff didn’t know either. Luckily, my car was still in tact when I came out. The back door looks like an employee’s only entrance, but it’s not. The interior decor is the typical trendy Corktown style, very quaint and almost tight to maneuver, but it works.

I placed my order at the bar. No issues there. The staff was welcoming, and the food was prepared quickly. $40 later, I left with two pizzas. One regular deep dish with pepperoni and hot honey. One gluten-free vegan cheese and mushroom pizza. Both presented well, had fresh ingredients, and were filling. I added sea salt and herbs to both to jazz them up, made them even more tasty.

Good stuff all around.

Grandma Bob’s is an absolute must visit. The Detroit style pepperoni pizza with hot honey was next level ,perfectly crisp on the edges, light and airy inside (not heavy or dense like a lot of Detroit style pies), and that sweet heat combo from the hot honey was unreal.

The atmosphere is just as good as the food. It has a super trendy, welcoming vibe with cool community seating that makes it easy to hang out, and actually enjoy the experience. The service was fast, friendly, and on point from start to finish.

On top of all that, their selection of great local craft beers really ties everything together and makes it a perfect Detroit food and drinks stop.

Hands down one of the best pizza spots in the city. I’ll definitely be back.

Our group ordered the spicy pepperoni Detroit style pizza. It was the best- chunks of ricotta, hot honey, pepperoni, with a deep-dish style crust. So tasty! This place was packed on a weeknight, but the service was great and the staff worked hard to seat our large party. Right across the street from the Michigan Central train station- perfect spot to grab lunch or dinner after visiting the nearby sites.

Grandma Bob’s might have one of the GREATEST deep dish pizzas Ive ever had! Perfectly cooked with fresh ingredients! The pizzeria itself was well maintained, clean, clear and organized a dope little spot. The service was incredible everyone was super helpful and nice. The drinks were very creative and poured to perfection and everything on the menu is fairly priced. I highly recommend everyone in the metro Detroit area check this spot out…you will be blown away!

Great food, great prices and great staff. The space is small (65 occupants) and during busy times there can be a long wait. We arrived around 1 pm and there were two available seats at the bar which resulted in a minimal wait.

Ordered the Cashew Caesar Salad and the Sausage & Pistachio Pizza which were both tasty. Would definitely recommend.

I moved to the Detroit area 8 years ago, I’m in my 50’s. I ate tavern style pizza all my life and then I moved to Detroit and was lost. Grandma Bob’s has ended my quest to find a thin crust pizza. It’s delicious their toppings are very fresh and the pizza was cooked perfectly. Do yourself a favor and support this pizza establishment. The four of us had three pizzas and we finished all of them. A boozy shake was also shared at the table. Great service great atmosphere, excellent pizza. I can’t wait to come back.

The pizza, cocktails and service were great. We liked it so much we went twice in two weeks. There is a small paid parking lot in back which is a bonus too. The only downside is the space is small and crowded. They don’t take reservations so you may have to wait for a table.

Cool place to eat! Solid pizza. It gets busy so be ready to wait. Love the topping options.
The chairs need some padding as my wife was in a skirt and the metal mesh made her legs sore. Small price to pay but still…
