Fried Rice Worth the Return Trip

Currently ranking as my #1 or #2 fried rice in Greenville, this spot really surprised me. The portion size for the main plates is a little off for the price, but the real value comes from the rest of the combination platter. Around $12–$13 for soup, an appetizer, and a full meal. Fairly good for 2025.

The food overall was great, but the fried rice is what truly stands out. Bold, salty, and loaded with extras, it puts the usual “rice and a few peas” approach to shame. The interior feels outdated, but the kindness of the staff more than makes up for it. I’ll be back for the fried rice alone.. it’s that good from my personal preference.

It was a toss-up between 3 and 4 stars but probably closer to 3.

Let me start off saying we don’t do Chinese much because it’s hard to find good. Dragon Den used to be our place, and they closed, and this place came recommended.

So upon walking in, the front entrance was very small and cramped. Between waiting to be seated and people there waiting for pick up orders, it was very small, almost uncomfortable.

We were seated relatively quickly, and our drink order was taken as soon as we sat down. I was thinking so far so good. Little did I know it would go downhill from there.

Crab Rangoon is a favorite of ours, so we always have to try that anywhere we go. We’ll, it was mediocre at best. It was at least warm, but it wasn’t very flavorful. The eggrolls were just okay, nothing special. Not like Dragon Den! Now, onto the food… I ordered the chicken with mushrooms. It was actually pretty good. The food was hot, and the portion was plenty. My husband had the house fried rice. Once again, the portion was plenty, hot, and decent.

Now, onto the service! Once seated and served our drinks and food, we were never checked on again. Our cups sat empty for most of our visit until I could find somebody and somewhat rudely flag them down to get some refills.

I’m not sure what everyone sees in this place because I sure don’t see it. I went here once, and that was enough. I will not be back.

Always counted on this place from us moving here from up north!! Every time since the past 2 years is getting worse and worse!!!! So disappointed!! Tonight ordered a meal and order of crab ragoons , which we love from here and they was old and horrible !!!! I’m thinking they cooked a bunch of them in afternoon and didn’t sell that much… so sold them for evening since every meal
Comes with 1 Rangoon and egg roll! But we actually did order of crab Rangoon and it was cold and heated it up and we like plastic glass trying to bite into the crispy part!!!! Never ever will I order from you again!!!! Too many chances we have given! So done!!!!!!!!!

I got two combination plates for take out. Total came to $32 for 1 beef broccoli and 1 general tsau chicken. Each came with soup, fried rice, egg roll and one crab ragoon. Food was OK. Decent portions but you have to pay for any soy sauce or duck sauce packets or fortune cookies. 75¢ per sauce or fortune cookie.

I have went to this place since Paul opened the restaurant and it has gone downhill big time since I last went 6 months ago. The waitress was rude, rushed us. We ordered Beef Skewers and I have had this multiple times with our meal and the fire went out 3 times in 15 mins asked them to take it off my ticket and she did not want too and said the were cooked and the fire is for looks. I understand that but they are not hot, they are room temp… I am not planning on coming back for a while..

We don’t do Chinese much, but we heard this was the place to try.

We were seated and our drink order taken very quickly. I had a good feeling about service, but then it got worse.

Anyway to the food. Crab Rangoon were very bland. Eggroll was pretty good. House fried rice was good. Unfortunately I had to stop eating halfway through because my drink was empty. It stayed that way for awhile so i just sat there waiting for some kind of service.

Oh well, another mediocre food joint with bad service. My recommendation is find somewhere else to eat.

Tried Grand China for the first time last night and I am so glad to have finally found a good Chinese take out in the upstate. We ordered the pepper steak and the Mongolian beef dinner combos as well as an order of sweet & sour chicken. They were delicious and the portions were huge! Even the crab Rangoon and egg rolls were tasty. However, we weren’t a fan of the pork fried rice…. So I’d sub it out for white rice next time. 10/10 recommend!

This used to be one of my favorite places to eat, but lately the food has gotten greasy and the last time I ate there I ordered a tofu dish and was told that they don’t serve the tofu meals when they’re busy because it takes longer to cook. Which to me says they don’t want to spend any extra time making the meals, and I don’t want to have a thrown together dinner when I go out.

Service was good. The guy that took my order was nice. They do give you a decent amount of food for Togo orders. The food was pretty good. The Chinese food was not the best I’ve had but the best I’ve had in this area. It’s kinda on the higher end it was just over $78 for the 4 of us.

What a great little Chinese restaurant! Everything we ate was delicious. The fried rice was excellent, the cheese rangoons were some of the best we’ve ever had, the General Tso was gently spicy as desired, and the hot and sour soup very good (which is a measuring stick for me with Chinese restaurants). Our waiter was courteous and engaged, our food came out very quickly, and the atmosphere was very pleasant. Classical music played while we ate our food. We highly recommend this establishment.
