Sunday morning, visiting Portland, we wanted to pick up quick breakfast before starting our day. The line was out the door but it is small place. The workers worked through the line pretty fast. I ordered seasonal danish with cream cheese and blue berry, it was flaky sweet but not too sweet. Breakfast sandwich with egg and bacon, bread was little chewy for me. My friend likes his veggie breakfast sandwich. Street parking.

This place is absolutely amazing. Growing up in NJ, we had fantastic sandwich places all over the place. I got the turkey deluxe? (Something like that) . It was amazing- the bread is soft, fresh flavorful. Lots of lettuce, a perfect amount of spread, and delicious crispy bacon and great quality cheese. They serve it with a pickle on the side- which compliments the sandwich so nicely. If I could give this place 100 stars I would.

Tried Grand central bakery for the first time and I’m hooked! The almond croissant was absolutely incredible flaky, buttery, and filled with rich almond cream. I also loved the sandwich which was just as delicious. Grand central has really a warm, cozy vibe and the staff were super friendly. Definitely coming back for more!

This is a must stop anytime I am in the area. When I finish a meeting early I swing by and pick up a great sandwich. They have so many options for lunch, and there bread is the best. Try the rye sourdough you won’t be disappointed. My daughter this last time got a chai tea and loved it as well. The staff is always friendly even when a long line awaits them. And if they offer fresh local tomatoes, don’t say no! Love coming to the sellwood location and would bet the others are just as great through out the city! I mean who doesn’t love fresh bread!

As a native Portlander, I can say the Grand Central is a pretty awesome local chain, when it comes to bread, and like bread goods.
The customer service and the overall demeanor of certain employees make it so I personally don’t want to give my business To this company. The two times I’ve gone in and asked for a grilled cheese. I have been met with attitude and an overall snottiness.
If you order from here and get some of their delicious food, I suggest you do it through GrubHub or some other app so you don’t have to deal with these snotty people that they have at the register

Serious talk…pastries are good, but the veggie breakfast quiches are top notch. The crust just sends it into otherworldly. Snagging a few for the flight home made me wish PDX was home so I can have these again!

I go to all the Grand Centrals and have always had friendly service. Not today. They were obviously put out that I even wanted to give them my money.

Overall good not great. I don’t need to come back for a biscuit or a biscuit breakfast sandwich but the ginger molasses cookie is amazing.
Sausage biscuit- sausage, Gouda, tomato relish, on a house made biscuit. Decent, good not great. The sausage needed some spice and seasoning. The biscuit was ok but needed salt and could have been softer. Wouldn’t need it again.
Raspberry jammer- biscuit topped with raspberry jam. The biscuit would benefit from being warmed or fresh. Sweeter biscuit that would greatly benefit from salted butter or salt in general. Don’t need again.
Ginger molasses cookie- fantastic cookie! Slightly dry edges but very moist center. All of the cookie had good chew. Very good ginger flavor and molasses sweetness. Best thing we got.

Worth the wait!
Grand Central Bakery has the best egg and cheese biscuit I’ve ever had. The biscuit crumbles perfectly in your mouth. The cheese is melty delight.
It was definitely worth the short line and 15 min food prep wait, especially since I got to sip on my tasty coffee.

I’m surprised I’ve missed this spot several times, as I love Sellwood and am usually around this particular area. So I was excited to try this spot with my friend. Super cute inside, everything looked tasty. I’m a huge coffee snob and the coffee was pretty good in my opinion. I’d say 8.5/10 for coffee. I usually go all out when trying a new place. I ordered a loaf of sourdough bread which is fantastic, along with some other pastries. I’d definitely go back again to try some of the other items on the menu. Inside felt very cozy.
