This is a quiet little spot with lots of wines from South America, Spain, and Portugal. The guy who works there is knowledgeable, personable, and helpful. They have Happy Hour all day on Sunday and Monday, and half price bottles on Wednesday. The menu is very meat heavy and not part of the happy hour. The wines for happy hour are $10 a glass. It’s a great space and the limited menu and higher pricing are the reasons for the 3 stars and not more.

Recently, I celebrated a birthday with friends at a small quaint Latin American wine bar in the mosaic district. The ambiance was charming, perfect for a cozy gathering. We indulged in a variety of Latin American wines that were truly one-of-a-kind and delightful. The cheese board was a definite standout, complementing the wines beautifully. Every small plate we tried was delicious, adding to the culinary experience.

The service, provided by Katherine, Alex, and Michelle, was impeccable. These three lovely staff members went above and beyond to ensure our comfort and enjoyment. Despite a heat wave that loomed over the weekend, it didn’t dampen our experience in the slightest. We unanimously agreed that we would return without hesitation. This gem of a wine bar would be perfect for casual after-work drinks with colleagues or a date night.

One of the highlights was the laid-back and unfussy atmosphere of the wine bar, which created a nice, relaxed vibe. It’s not fancy, but that’s what made it so charming and inviting.

What a delicious night catching up with my friend at the most charming tapas spot!
From the first bite to the last, every dish was a little celebration of flavor.

Shoutout to Vanessa, the hostess—friendly, attentive, and amazing glow of warmth that made the evening even better.

Off to a good start with friendly staff and a nice atmosphere (besides a parking lot view if you sit outside)- a solid wine list and a guy who passionately shares pairings and prides himself on knowing good food- so all good! A should-be-happy place, until a wiry blond hair was found in the pickle garnish to the charcuterie. Yeah, yuck- I guess that happens- but what is a 2 star deduction is the “no that’s not a hair” comment (most def was a hair) and no apology, no replenishment of said pickles, and perhaps a stretch- no “sorry” glass of wine or small bill deduction. Nope- just enjoy your meal. With hair.

Want to learn more about wine but are too afraid to ask “a dumb question?” Have no fear at Grand Cata the staff will walk you through any of the 14 glasses of wine you can taste plus the extensive for purchase inventory they have. Alex and Pedro make you feel welcome no matter your wine expertise. The staff is knowledgeable and approachable and doesn’t take themselves too seriously. This is a place where you can ask questions and not feel judged! Plus the food is pretty good! Who doesn’t love a charcuterie spread or pate with their wine.
