Our family was staying next door at the Best Western- my husband and sons were ice fishing and my daughter and I stayed at the hotel. It was extremely convenient walk to the restaurant but reading reviews I actually opted against eating here and we ordered DoorDash our first day there. The next day my daughter was fussy so I figured it allowed us to get out of the hotel so we gave it a shot. Sooo mad at myself that we hadn’t done so sooner because it was SOOOOO good!!! My daughter had spaghetti recommended by the waitress (she mentioned the kid at the table next to us had it and loved it!!) and at first she was unsure because it had little chunks of tomatoes in it, after I explained that’s how sauce is made and they won’t taste like tomatoes but more so pasta sauce- she devoured it!!! I tried it and it was very good!!! I had a Philly cheese steak sandwich and fries and it was amazing!! Could have used a little more meat on it but mainly because I don’t get onions or peppers on mine. The atmosphere was fantastic- gave “cafe” vibes in such a good way! Nice big soda in a large mason jar! Highly highly recommend eating here!!!!

Mostly your standard café food, with a few surprises! My daughter had the pulled pork on fries and loved it! Salad bar was fresh with many options. Service was outstanding. My kids have already asked to stop here again on our way through.

5+stars! The food was Excellent! Not one single thing that needed to be different and the variety on the salad bar is another Wow spot here. They accommodated our large group with only 15 minute notice and had a cozy area set up for us! We were extra impressed with the service. We have had several restaurants lately that impressed us with the service and this one was absolutely top notch. Constantly anticipating our needs and so kind and friendly. Absolutely fantastic job!

Always great food and service. The portions are substantial so you better be hungry. Clean and cozy at the same time. Inviting atmosphere and friendly staff.
I highly recommend the chef salad but allow yourself at least an hour to tackle this beast.
Update for 2022.
I have eaten here a few times a year for the past 7 years and service can be touch and go some visits, but the food has always been on point. Always a relaxing enjoyable experience aa long as your not in a rush.

Big Beautiful Traveling
Great place for great food!! The salad bar is always fresh & well stocked with varity. Staff can be a bit slow… but I’m in no hurry when I stop in. Place is always clean, staff are nice, just slow at times. Highly recommend stopping in when you are in the area!

I’ve been here twice so far, both meals were fantastic.
Only major complaint I have is how long the food takes to get made or served haven’t figured out who is at fault on that part, but if you have the patience to wait a while to get your food still hot then you will love this place still.

Eric is the main Chef here and the food he prepares and cooks is phenominal! Best Cafe I have had the opportunity to eat at in a very long time. Kudos Eric! Had to get me a meal to go after eating that’s how good it was.

Such great service and about as close to a home cooked meal that a driver can get on the road. The meatloaf was to die for. In fact it’s so good if I was on death row I would want it for my last meal. Please do your stomach a favor and stop on in. Your stomach and wallet won’t be disappointed

This was my first time here (my husband has been here a few times) and you definitely get your money worth. We chose the cheese balls for appetizer and they were delicious. They had a great pull to them. The ranch was a little thin but it was still good. I had the brisket dinner and my husband had the pulled pork dinner. You get your choice of potato, so I had the loaded baked potato and my husband got the parmesan garlic mashed. They also came with baked beans, coleslaw, and cornbread. The baked beans were cold. The bbq sauce was pretty good. The coleslaw was very good and creamy, the cornbread was sweet. The baked potato comes with butter and sour cream on the side but comes with cheese, bacon, and onions on it. The brisket was absolutely phenomenal. It was thin sliced (which you don’t see often) and crisped around the edges so it’s like getting burnt ends with every bite. The pulled pork was moist and very flavorful. The service was good. The waitress was very attentive and friendly. I definitely recommend coming here if you’re looking to get miserable on good food.
