Goya Bistro, the first Thai Bistro to open in the Northwest located in Merseyside. From a small home catering to the Thai bistro, serving the authentic taste of Chiangmai food and classic Thai dishes for dine in and takeaway. We have developed exquisite cooking and I am delighted to share my favourite dishes and many more with you. The interior design of the bistro incorporates the classic feel of Northern Thailand along with contemporary decor. The bistro has a friendly and welcoming atmosphere on which many of our customers have complimented. Along with the great tasting authentic Thai meals, this is another reason why customers look forward to returning again and again.

We have eaten at this restaurant since it first opened.
We are fairly well travelled and have visited Thailand many times over the last twenty years, this authentic Thai food is on par with, if not better, than the homegrown stuff.
We always check out Thai restaurants when out in the City’s, Manchester, Liverpool, Glasgow, Aberdeen etc…none come near this restaurants food.
Firstly, this is the establishment that kicked off Newton le Willows High St regeneration…this was the first business of the Nouveau NLW look, they all followed GOYAS.
It has consistently served the tastiest Thai food in the North West for years…culminating in twice winning THE BEST THAI EXPERIENCE IN MERSEYSIDE Award….this award was on top of six earlier food awards.
We live down the road in Winwick but my friends from Thelwall, Stockton Heath, Grappenhall all have this restaurant on their returns list.
My mate from Brooklyn, NYC, always asks to come when he’s over.
All in all, I guess you know by now that I love the place, its food, its staff and its owner…she’s a Diamond and the best Thai comedian you’ve ever met
If you see any reviews giving less than 5 stars on here you can tell that they usually have a chippy dinner for tea.

Felt very cosy and warm as soon as we walked in.
We ordered a few starters to share and then mains to follow and every dish was very flavourful and cooked to perfection.

Goya Thai Bistro is absolutely fantastic — easily one of the best spots on the high street. The food is incredible, full of flavour, perfectly cooked, and always hits the spot. Everything I’ve tried, from starters to mains, is consistently amazing. On top of that, the staff are friendly, welcoming, and make the whole experience even better. Truly a top-notch place — highly recommend!

I’ve visited the restaurant several times and it never disappoints. The food is gourmet quality at an affordable price and the staff are always so polite and attentive. The atmosphere is perfect for any occasion whether it be a family meal, date night or a social meal with friends. Superb!!

The food is a great and always has been. We have eaten in and had takeaways regularly. However, the price increases and small portion sizes (particularly the cost of 3 spring rolls now) have made us question whether this is now worth it. Our recent order was £40 for only two mains (takeaway) which just feels very expensive.

Seven of us had a meal here which was lovely no complaints from anyone.
There’s no sweets… so take that in mind as we probably wouldn’t of booked if we’d of known but they found some biscuits for us so all was not lost and saved them loosing a star

Visited again in March 2024. What a fabulous experience … Goya also do cooking classes. Given as a present, we attended a cooking class; we got to see how it was cooked first and then cooked our own yellow curry (many other meal options exist, just ask!) under excellent direction. It was brilliant fun. All the ingredients were ready and waiting for us and all we had to do was listen and enjoy. We got to take away what we cooked plus eat the professionally cooked meal. Learnt so much … many new and correct ways to cook a curry and what to look out for in the ingredients to use too. Brilliant time.

This is an absolute gem. This tiny little restaurant on the main high street in Newton is a must go to. It has the best tasting Thai meals on offer and such friendly staff. They can prepare meal as vegan options for some but not all dishes – for example, the Massaman curry is simply wonderful. You can also order take away if you do not want to stay in the restaurant, but you will have to pick these up. Such a great little find that is so highly recommended.
