The food was amazing. We had the wanton nachos and a burger, both were SO GOOD! Out bartender Brian was attentive and social. The bathrooms could probably use a little bit of a facelift but otherwise the eclectic feel have it good character.

We made a pit stop in Hudson while driving to Palenville and then on to NYC, and discovered this hidden gem for lunch. The place had a great ambiance and wonderful vibes, with excellent beer. The chicken sandwiches with fries were fantastic — generous portions and full of flavor (we shared two among three of us, and it was more than enough). Our host was very kind and checked on us regularly to make sure we had everything we needed.
I was hoping for an authentic American diner experience, and this place delivered it perfectly. A must-visit if you’re in Hudson!

The atmosphere is perfect Governor ‘s Tavern. We arrived late. Sophia served us as we are first arrived.
Sophia, is amazing, when we had question about the menu and dishes, she was willing to share and help us understand how everything is prepared. Really enjoyed that. Thought that was excellent for her to just take the time.
We felt relaxed and we will be back

If you’re in Hudson, the “OG chicken sandwich” is the absolute best. It never disappoints and the “State Grill” burger is a staple. Never had a bad experience here since the day they opened (and before when it was the Iron Horse). Service always top notch and a full list of “on tap beers, always 12). Indoor and outdoor seating. Great job Brian!

I’ve been stopping in at Governor’s for many years and always enjoy it. The folks here are always friendly and attentive. It’s a busy little place that serves good food at reasonable prices. Local brews on tap as well many others like Miller or Guinness. If you are in the area stop in and enjoy yourself.

Was in the area for a week and this was the best meal we had. Crispy wonton nachos were SO good. The drinks were also great. Want to highlight our server Chad, he was really friendly and gave us some recommendations for our trip. 10/10 would definitely go again if I’m in the area 🙂

Love this place lots of charm with great service and great food. Could use a little more fries when it comes with the meal but the burger was very tasty especially the State Grill. Can be busy so if you can early you will be happy
