After moving back to Philly from Florida, my husband and I been on a hunt for some good authentic Haitian restaurant. After reading the positive reviews, we decided to give Gou a try. Let me just say we were not disappointed. The food is DELICIOUS. The atmosphere is inviting. And the staff friendly and present. We’ve found our new Haitian spot!!!

The food may have taken some time to come come out but when it did it was well worth the wait. The oxtail plantain cups for the appetizer were delicious and that is coming from someone who doesn’t usually like plantains. The entrees were comprobable to the price meaning you get both quality and hearty quantity. The drinks were very good would suggest the mango refresher. The host Natalie was great and I would highly recommend this restaurant.

The food was very good, the staff were pleasant and accommodating to our needs. The food does take a little bit of time to come out, but it’s well worth it for the taste and presentation. It’s authentic Haitian food and I will be bringing everyone I know here!

Flew in from Dallas and one of my teammates suggested Gou—so glad they did. Manny was our server and provided exceptional service for our team of 10 this evening. The food was absolutely amazing. Highly recommend!

I’ve been to gou so many times and this is the best Haitian restaurant in Philadelphia. I love the cleanliness, the customer service, and the food. Wonderful place to take any non Haitian friends or loved one to try Haitian food for the first time. The owners are very welcoming and respectful!

I can’t lie this place should be illegal. Everyone here should be locked up because this food was top tier. We came from NJ and I already asked the owner if I can move in because I don’t want to leave. The drink was clearly made by an angel and i honestly believe god himself came down and made this food. The staff from beginning to end was so nice and welcoming I feel like im doing the most but i can’t lie to yall so run here. You’ll probably find me trying to move my stuff in. N i don’t leave reviews so that should tell you something

LOVE IT HERE! If you call yourself a foodie you’re doing yourself a huge disservice if you don’t get your butt out here to olney to try Gou’s delicious Haitian food! There’s everything we could have ever wanted in a meal – flavor, spice and everything nice ! Not only was the service fast, thorough and kind, but our server was so incredibly knowledgeable about the food and walked us through all the different options and what would go well together! The result? A deliciously cohesive meal start to finish that wowed us!! We love it here!

From the time you walk in to the time you finish eating, the ambiance is memorable: A place beautifully decorated, well-mannered attendants, clean tables, sparkling utensils and plates, delicious and well-prepared dishes, great music, and relaxing atmosphere. I ate there with my brother-in-law from NYC, and we had a Memorable dinner yesterday. We highly recommend Gou Restaurant, and we plan on coming back with family and friends in the near future. If I could, I would have awarded Gou with a Michelin. We were previously at another Haitian restaurant, but we left because the place was welcoming. I didn’t want to entrust my stomach to people who appeared hostile from the get go. When we walked into Gou, we were greeted with a huge smile. I turned to my brother-in-law and said, “You see what I mean.” And we shared with the attendant what had happened at the other place and thanked her for the warm hospitality. Mèsi Anpil (Great Thanks)!
