my family has gotten our cakes from gordos for birthdays for at least 11 years. it began when I forgot to pickup my grandmother’s cake and was too far from home to turn around so I googled bakeries near where I was on the interstate. we got a peach tres leches cake and fell in love. their strawberry is amazing too. the service is impeccable – such friendly staff, so many of the desserts are Soo good! I haven’t tried the lunch food but don’t doubt it’s awesome as well. highly recommend!!!

Good spot for authentic food, portions are right sized as well. The grocery store and accompanying bakery are a great touch if your culinary talents and sweet tooth are in the mix. It’s a true gem in the Homewood area, oh! and Menudo and pozole on Sunday as well.
