Gopher’s Grill: First off, I’d like to give praise to “Lori S.”. She was on her game. Outstanding service. She visited my table of 1 about 10 times. She knew when to come and when not to come to the table. Lori answered all my questions, was very prompt with service, and was very friendly. In these times, good service is rare and Lori delivered. Bravo.
I ordered the Bavarian pretzel appetizer and it arrived within a few minutes by the runner. Don’t order extra cheese because you won’t need it. Pretzel was very warm, soft on the inside, salted well, and very crunchy on the outside. Very good Deutch pretzel.
I ordered the gyro which I found under the “Wraps” section of the menu ahead of time. This item is what brought me here. It came with fries and a pickle. The pickle quarter was of very good flavor, and crisp. The fries were “steak fries”, seasoned well and hot. The gyro was average at best. The pita was outstanding. Upon inspection, I was concerned there were no tomatoes, but I found slices of tomato beneath everything which is not ideal. They were hot, wilted, and could not taste them. There were a few slices of red onion, but not enough. The tzatziki sauce was flavorful, but very, very, thin and absent of any cucumber chunks or anything else. It appeared to be on the bottom of everything as well and soaked the middle of the pita. The meat was very good, but lacked much flavor. The cook on the meat was very good – crisp in areas and there was enough there to fill me up. I quickly ordered more tzatziki sauce, and it came in a dish. Upon tasting it, it appeared almost frothy and whipped. Very thin consistency. I’d rate this gyro as slightly above average overall.
The gyro would benefit from onion and tomatoes at the top, with the sauce on the side. Sauce should also be thicker.
I also had a couple of tall Bulleit bourbon and Colas. Poured well, and I was pleased with the mix.
Price for everything was $50 with tax and 3% on top for credit card, so the price was reasonable.
Lastly, the vibe was very cool here. I was seated in front of the golf simulators and they were busy. Good classic rock playing in the background, and the place was not too loud.
Plenty of parking around back and there is a clearly marked rear entrance / exit.
I would dine here again.
I ordered the wasabi encrusted ahi tuna steak. It came out super fast and was cooked perfectly. The capers that came along with it were amazing and full of a robust flavor featuring bacon bits and lightly coated red pepper spice.
Service was good, food was decent, games were down, and several in the arcade upstairs were too.
The appetizers were a bit cool when they arrived, the food was warm (which is good). Everything was good, but not something I’m going to crave. Overall I gave them a 4/5 because I would eat there again if passing through and wanted something I knew would be ok and not a chance.
Tasty adult beverages were made well and delicious. Ordered spinach artichoke dip and street fries for appetizers… More than needed but we wanted variety. Lunch was a steak quesadilla, salmon with green beans, Philly cheese steak with fries and a steak with brussel sprouts.
Everyone left with a full belly. And the service was outstanding .
Another visit… Still awesome!
