Every other dish had the same feature: skimped out on the kids tenders, skimped out on the kids fries and the basket of fries he gave me was an equally terrible joke. I’m not asking the world of these people, but if you go to Burger King and buy a whopper, a full whopper is what you get. Go to Ruby Tuesday and get a kids meal, a kid will have enough. Cans of soda were $2.08. Inflation + soda tax makes the ”expensive” price for a single can of soda $1 — and that’s what I expected to pay, which would have been bad enough. But not this greedy stooge, he needed to pocket another dollar off us.
Falafels were called ”jumbo” but there are two kinds of falafels and the customer who knows falafels know this: there are small and large. His was small. Why lie? I will tell you: calling it jumbo enabled him to justify his price, while pocketing the difference.
Besides that, he took 25 minutes to make food for one small group of people and had his waitress (who had her poor child glued to a phone, sweating out her ”shift”) cooking with him too! There’s 1 rule in casual dining: people will wait for good food. Especially if there’s good reason. But Goodies food was anything but good, and in the end the guy had extra help and still took way too long to accomplish his short sighted mission of ripping people off who could have kept his failing business afloat.
Don’t be me, save your money for a place like OIP down the street who will actually give you value and fill your stomach for your hard earned cash.
I was looking for some local Mediterranean food and decided on Goodies Mediterranean. At first, I had second thoughts—the parking lot was empty, and the exterior didn’t look too inviting. But I’m glad I stuck with my decision!
I ordered the Chawirma Chicken entrée and cashew baklava for dessert. While waiting, I had a great conversation with the owner, which made me feel more comfortable about my choice. He even threw in a free appetizer when I mentioned I was taking my food to go—such a nice gesture.
The main course was excellent, especially the chicken. However, the pita and salad were a bit below average. Overall, I enjoyed the experience and would go back to try something else on the menu. The dessert was a standout!
This local family diner does not catch the eye as you drive by. But if you stop and give it a try if you like Lebanese style dishes it will be well worth your time. The owner/operators were very nice and friendly. You will certainly not leave hungry.
