I will first start this review by saying the food was mediocre at best. Lettuce had clearly been sitting out for a while and was wilted/discolored and looked dry as did much of the other produce. The biggest problem was the lady walking through the store complaining about my parking. She even went as far to follow me out saying i was selfish for parking the way i did. There was ZERO signs that said parking was not available in front of the store. Perhaps Karen should take some classes on how you should talk to your paying customers. I will never spend a dollar at that store again and she is real lucky she wasnt picking her front teeth up off the ground.

Today was a nice surprise. I stopped in today for a sandwich that turned out amazing by the way, actually got sit down and enjoy my meal (limted to two tables but its tastefully arranged and decorated) As I was admiring the fresh cut made to order meats, I see all the extras they sell also , 3 kinds of soups, pre-made pasta meals, cookies, they even serve pot roast and meatloaf, meats and cheeses by the pound ( very competitive pricing compared to the store) they do catering and delivery also. Starting talking with a lady there at the other table (inside seating is limited due to covid restrictions, they also have some outdoor seating as seen in the pics) we talked about food and the area, turns out she was the owner she was very nice, very helpful and full of pride for her shop. I found out they have been there 16 years,that pretty incredible feat these days. I was pretty excited to hear they do a free sandwich for birthdays and for every purchase you get money put on your account to buy more food when you purchase if you are signed up for there loyalty program. So if your on this side of town and want to enjoy some of their deliciousness stop by and bring your smile, tell them #savantfoodiekc from Instagram sent you. We ordered 2 whole penny clubs and 2 large red cream sodas. (The best soda bar none) food was great as usual. Haven’t had a bad sub yet and I have gone here for years.

Food was decent. Price seems outrageous. Overall is say poor value for the money. Almost 40 bucks for two sandwiches and 1 drink. And the store itself is kinda unpleasant. Probably not bad just gives a dirty vibe to me.

Got 2 sandwiches online. Picked up, 1 was fine. Meatball was disgusting. Soggy as hell, tomatoes and tons of sauce with zero cheese. Called and “manager” said she would refund it but needed the card brought in. Did that and then they refused and offered a new one at a discount. What a joke. Will NEVER be back.

The food is always good and we bring our food home from here quite often. The reason I’m only giving 3 stars is because our latest visit here, this past week, a young man, I’m angry with myself for not getting his name, was called up from the back to help finish my order. This same young man had helped me before and he was just as pleasant then as he was this time. Very polite and seeming genuinely invested in doing a good job. The gal who originally started helping me really kinda had a “I don’t really wanna be here kind of attitude. An older lady came in during my order, I’m assuming she was a manager, and she came across with the same kind of attitude as the first gal. I asked the young man if they had any chocolate chip cookies, as none where out, and he said yes and that he would go get them for me. What really kinda frustrated me is that when he did that, the first gal almost immediately followed him back there with a ” What the hell are you doing type of attitude”. He told her and she then came back up to the register and said she would take my payment. This young man is pleasant, hard working and seems aimed to please, as he’s done when he’s helped with my orders before. I’d hate to see him lose that work ethic so young without the proper guidance and support from his superiors. Our other visits here have mostly been just fine, although there always seems to be at least one person who could really care less about being there but unfortunately, that happens everywhere. This last visit though is the one that prompted me to write this review. Help the younger ones grow and build that work ethic. Don’t treat them like they don’t matter because they are beneath you and that’s just really how I felt this young man was treated. Sorry for the super long review. Couldn’t think of how to say what I wanted, in a shorter version

Staff is always the friendliest at this location. I’ve tried many custom sandwiches and always have a good time joking with them along the way. Always greeted with a smile and leaving with a delicious sandwich!

I was a regular customer there until they messed up my sandwich then offered to replace it and then took back the offer and tried to change it with a discount instead. Very disappointed and I guess I will just have to start going to Subway down the street instead.
