Reviews
Nicely renovated. Friendly staff. Ate everything. Food very good and quick. Margarita lime/strawberry hit just right. Fajitas good. Guac good. Cheese good. No complaints – will be back!
Has anyone else had a similar experience.
The steak fajita was good.
The chicken quesidillia was great.
If it wasn’t for the spam flavor in the taco salad I would rate much better.
Just want to know if anyone else’s food ever taste like spam?
Our waiter was a young man, looked maybe still in high school. He was very nervous and had to take 15 orders for food and drinks. We all got the correct drinks, and at that point everything was okay. The chips and salsa were fine, atmosphere was okay. We all sat and talked a while and about a half an hour later some of our food started to arrive. Some as in about 6 of us got our food. And it was cold. And then a few more of us got our food, minutes later. Burgers, tacos, enchiladas, we had all sorts of different food, all of it cold. One of us got a steak and it tasted like it just came out of the fridge. We complained and the owner/manager lady apologized and took back our food. Tacos came back out cold. The burger that was sent back came back cold. An employee of mine ate one bite of his enchilada plate, complained it was cold, and never received another plate. One of my employees was sitting there never have received a plate of food. At 6:05, an hour after ordering and after several of us got new plates of cold food, after complaining she was missing her plate, she was given a plate of the incorrect food. Yep, seriously. She sat there for an hour waiting for a plate that was not even correct. Several employees didn’t get to enjoy a meal as who wants a cold burger twice. What is the use of asking for a new meal when the new meal is worse than the originally bad meal.
None of us ever got refills. We were sharing beverages so we could all ration out our drinks. Not one refill in over 20 minutes. They took our order and then forgot we existed. The manager lady came out and asked one of the employees if anyone needed a box. She didn’t ask the patrons at her place of business, she asked of the employees to ask the other employees if they needed boxes. The employee told her to ask everyone eating, and she just stared at her. Didn’t know what to do so the employee turned and looked at everyone and said who needs a box? Several of us said we did. After 5 minutes of waiting, no boxes ever arrived. I kept waiting for this experience to maybe get better. It just never did. It was like they were purposely trying not to give any of us a good time. None of us could really figure it out why the staff was not trying at all to save any part of this for us.
Anyways, on to the bill part. With all my employees watching how would I handle this, I waited my turn in line to pay and asked the man working the counter what my bill was. He handed me a bill initially with everyone’s meal bill on it. All 15 of us. I told him several of us didn’t even get to eat our meals. He said when we can handle it one of a few ways. I will take 25% off your total bill, or I can just take off the meals you did not eat, or give you a gift card to come back and dine again. I said over 25% of my employees just sat there disappointed in this experience. I am not going to take 25%. I want the meals knocked off we didn’t enjoy. I don’t want a gift card. What makes you think we want to come back here again? He took off 5 of the meals. We paid for 10, automatic gratuity tip, tax, all that fun stuff, and had a bill for $127. There was certainly not any sort of return on that investment, and all of us there agreed that Good Tequilas will never be getting another cent of our business. Sad. We wanted to support this establishment, and have a good get together night away from work to celebrate Christmas, and Good Tequilas was a let down for us. Sadly 1 star. I hope this review keeps others from having an experience the same as we all did tonight. This is the worst review I have ever written about a visit honestly.
The waitress was attentive and the service was quick.
However for nearly $45 before tip for 2 I expect better quality.
Hope to hear things turn around, we love
having them so close!
We thought this was our new go-to place.
As always, things change because of the lack of good management and loss of focus.
We went there tonight and had the lemon tilapia with shrimp tacos.
La comida es no bueno!!
The mixed vegetables were straight out of the freezer from a bag, not fresh! No taste and chewy. The lemon tilapia was bland. The taco de camarones, otro vez, no bueno, chicloso! The tortillas were old, the shrimp like rubber. The rice was dry and had no flavor. We ordered two dos equis draft, but apparently bottles were easier to get. The server spent too much time on her phone and didn’t seem to care that we wanted another round. There were only 2 tables to be served, but we waited for the tap long after we finished eating.
We bought this all up with the guy who seemed to be in charge, busy but accomplishing nothing but
he said that there wasn’t a manager on duty and that the entire staff was new.
This all needs to change if Good Tequillas hopes to survive in the Peoria heights. There are too many great restaurants on prospect to be dropping the ball on the basics!
Hate to see you go out of business!
Please do better!!
