Went here for dinner as it was close to my hotel. Couldn’t have been more pleased. Let’s start with the service and staff — good ole country folk pleasant and professional while being sweet as the tea they serve. Yes great folks. I ordered the pulled pork plate and was not disappointed at all. The pork was moist and flavorful and the proportion was very generous — they wanted to ensure I left a satisfied customer. I ordered 2 smoke rib bones to go with it and again the flavor was excellent, maybe could have left it on the smoker a tad longer really break that meat down a tad more and get just a tad more bark — but It was so good I wasn’t arguing. These ribs had rub layer that was quite tasty but I am a sauce guy and their BBQ sauce was excellent and tasted homemade. This plate came with crinkle cut fries and I ordered the green beans as my other side. Again the green beans were cooked perfectly and had that delightful southern green bean flavor of sausage and bacon. I would not hesitate to come here again for dinner. Thanks for a great meal!!!

Do not go here unless you want GROSS food, RUDE service, and want to go hungry.
I placed a large pick up order at 3:12PM.
Not a busy time at all. Gave them 30 mins to make the order.
I paid, was handed some bags, and the guy just walked off. I had to sit and wait for him to come back and I asked “is that everything?” For him to say yes and have a nice day.
It was NOT everything. Half of the order was missing. When I called back to let them know, the manager was RUDE telling me they were busy she didn’t have a way to locate my check, and I should’ve made sure to get my receipt, then continued to tell me I don’t understand how the food industry works.
They also REFUSED to give any money back.
The food we did receive was COLD, like not sitting there waiting cold, but not cooked enough COLD!
We will NOT spend any more money at such a disgusting place. They should strongly consider finding a manager that can handle “busy” at 3:30pm and who knows how to speak to guests.

My first experience with Good Ole Boys was the Chelsea location. It was very good and the Childersburg delivered on my expectation. The pork is tender and beautifully smoked with a mild sweet sauce that is very complimentary to the meat. The slaw was crisp and cool and added and nice crunch to my sandwich. I usually don’t have slaw on my sandwich but was feeling it today so I forked a little onto each bite. Good Ole Boys really delivers on flavor and little preferences like having sauce on the table.

Ordered 2 burgers with bacon . Received 2 burnt patties only 1 had Bacon no onions pickles . 1 burger had both top bun the other had bottom buns. I live roughly 25mins from restaurant so when I arrived home I noticed the mess described above so I called restaurant manager told me to keep food and bring back tomorrow because we are now closed. BBQ sauce had the exact amount if tang! The pork sandwich melted in my mouth. Toast that bun and I’d go there every day! The turkey sandwich on Texas toast was just perfect. Onion rings had the crunch that took your breath away. Lastly, that staff… Sweet & southern charm at its finest. Thanks for showing this MI girl some southern lovin.

Nothing special about this place. My only regret was that I didn’t take a picture of the food. My ribs was black and tough. The chopped bbq plate I ordered was nothing to write home about just average. The chicken wings my wife ordered had so taste. The man at the table next to me heard me talking about the banana pudding and he turned to me and said the banana pudding was no good either so we choose not to attempt it. The only thing that was good was the tea. I want be back at this restaurant.

8 dinner from here last evening. Called in the order on the phone with Amanda who was extremely helpful and super nice! She left a really positive impression. Ordered the good old boy potato with the shredded chicken and sauce on the side with sides of greens and baked beans . Also an order of the fried green tomatoes appetizer. The baked potato was done nicely but it’s easy to see why they cover it in the barbecue sauce because the chicken was kind of dry like it was partially dehydrated. It tasted fine but as I didn’t really care for the sauce I ended up adding some mustard style Carolina Sauce I had left over from sticky sauce BBQ in Poplarville Mississippi instead. The Italian style green beans and the barbecue baked beans were really good. The baked beans could have maybe used a little more bell pepper. The fried green tomatoes were awful they were just so so greasy. 🙁
